A floating connector comprises a fixed housing, a fixed shell, a terminal, a movable housing, a movable shell and a regulating portion. The fixed shell is attached to the fixed housing. The fixed shell is provided with a first shell contact portion. The movable shell is attached to the movable housing. The movable shell is provided with a second shell contact portion. At least one of the first shell contact portion and the second shell contact portion has a resilient property. The first shell contact portion and the second shell contact portion are in contact with each other in an up-down direction by the resilient property of the at least one of the first shell contact portion and the second shell contact portion. The regulating portion regulates a movement of the second shell contact portion away from the first shell contact portion in the up-down direction.

Floating connector

A continuous structure capable of producing a connector cover is made from a single strip-shaped flat plate. The continuous structure has a structure in which a unit structure repeatedly and regularly appears in a longitudinal direction of the strip-shaped flat plate. The unit structure includes a flat-plate portion and two side wall portion groups. One of the two side wall portion groups includes a first side wall portion standing on one of two edges of the flat-plate portion in a width direction of the flat-plate portion, and the other of the two side wall portion groups includes a second side wall portion standing on the other of the two edges of the flat-plate portion. The second side wall portion is a spring portion which generates pressing force in the width direction. The first side wall portion faces the second side wall portion.

Connector cover, continuous structure capable of producing connector cover, and production method for connector cover

A connector comprises a fixed housing and a movable housing movable relative to the fixed housing. The fixed housing has an end wall, and the movable housing has a regulated portion. The end wall is provided with a stopping portion and a projecting portion projecting inward in a pitch direction (Y-direction). The regulated portion is provided with a reference surface, a stopped portion and a receiving recess. The stopped portion projects outward in the pitch direction beyond the reference surface to be located below the stopping portion, and an upward movement thereof is regulated by the stopping portion. The receiving recess is recessed inward in the pitch direction beyond the reference surface. The receiving recess faces, at least in part, the projecting portion in the pitch direction or receives, at least in part, the projecting portion.

Connector

A connector assembly comprises a first connector having a first contact and a second connector having a second contact. The first contact has a first supported portion which is supported not to be moved in a horizontal direction, a first resiliently-support portion extending from the first supported portion and a first contact point supported by the first resiliently-support portion. The second contact has a second supported portion which is supported not to be moved in the horizontal direction, a second resiliently-support portion extending from the second supported portion and a second contact point supported by the second resiliently-support portion. Under a completely-mated state where the first connector and the second connector are completely mated with each other, the first contact point is in contact with the second supported portion, and the second contact point is in contact with the first supported portion.

Connector assembly

A connector assembly comprises a first connector and a second connector mateable with each other. The first connector comprises two first positioning portions each having a first outer surface, and the second connector comprises two second positioning portion each having a second outer surface. Under a mated state where the first connector and the second connector are mated with each other, the first outer surfaces face the second outer surfaces in a horizontal direction (Y-direction), respectively. The connector assembly comprises at least one of a pair of first depressions provided to the first positioning portions, respectively, and another pair of second depressions provided to the second positioning portions, respectively. For example, when the first positioning portions are provided with the first depressions, respectively, under the mated state, each of the first depressions is located below an upper end of the first outer surface and depressed inward in the horizontal direction.

Connector assembly and connector

A contact realizing excellent transmission of high-speed signals by reducing a transmission path length and electric influence of adjacent contacts. In a first housing disposed on a circuit board, a second housing is fitted for receiving a mating connector therein in a manner movable in a moving direction orthogonal to a receiving direction. Each contact includes a contact portion brought into contact with an associated mating contact of the mating connector, a connection portion connected to the circuit board, and an elastically deformable linking portion connecting the contact and connection portions. The second and first housings hold the contact and connection portions, respectively. A dimension A of the linking portion in the receiving direction and a dimension B of the linking portion in a front-rear direction orthogonal to both the receiving and contact arranging directions is set to e.g. A&#x3e;B.

An object fitting/removing drive unit capable of fitting objects to each other, even if there is not enough working space in a fitting/removing direction of one object. Operation members holding cable connectors are accommodated in an inner frame in a manner movable in the fitting/removing direction. The inner frame is movably supported by outer frames along a direction orthogonal to the fitting/removing direction between initial and fitting-completed positions. A coupling member engaged with header connectors is movably supported by the outer frames along a direction orthogonal to the fitting/removing direction. When the inner frame is moved from the initial position to the fitting-completed position by being pressed by the coupling member, the outer frames guide the operation members toward the header connectors to fit the cable connectors and the header connectors to each other. A drive force transferring unit transfers driving force in the orthogonal direction.

Object fitting/removing drive unit, and connector unit

An object fitting/removing drive unit which is capable of enhancing accuracy of positioning and fitting of objects to be connected. To determine a position of a header connector on an imaginary plane which is orthogonal to a fitting/removing direction of a cable connector, cutouts which are fitted in flanges to position the flanges are formed in an inner frame.
