A variable capacity vane pump has a plurality of vanes radially extendably installed in their respective slots that are arranged in a circumferential direction in a rotor, a cam ring rockably provided on a supporting surface in a pump body and forming a plurality of pump chambers at an inner circumference side of the cam ring in cooperation with the rotor and the vanes, and a seal member provided at an outer circumference side of the cam ring and defining a first hydraulic pressure chamber located at a side where a pump discharge amount increases and a second hydraulic pressure chamber located at a side where the pump discharge amount decreases in a space outside the outer circumference of the cam ring. A center of the cam ring is offset to an inlet port side from a center of a driving shaft.

Variable capacity vane pump

In a variable capacity vane pump, a space between adjacent vanes is 1 pitch. A line that connects a half-pitch-advanced position from an end edge of an inlet port or from an end edge of an outlet port and a driving shaft center in a no-load state is termed a port reference line. A line that connects a center of a cam ring inner circumference side and the driving shaft center when an eccentricity amount of a cam ring is a maximum is termed a high pressure cam profile reference line. A line that connects the center of the cam ring inner circumference side and the driving shaft center at a low pressure when the eccentricity amount of the cam ring is a minimum is termed a low pressure cam profile reference line. The three reference lines; the port reference line, the high pressure cam profile reference line and the low pressure cam profile reference line, is set to be substantially parallel to each other.

A variable displacement pump including a drive shaft, a cam ring eccentrically moveable with respect to an axis of the drive shaft, and a solenoid drivingly controlled on the basis of variation in electric current amount to be supplied to the solenoid which is controlled in accordance with an operating condition of a vehicle. The solenoid is configured such that a rate of change in the specific discharge amount relative to the electric current amount to be supplied to the solenoid under a condition that the specific discharge amount is smaller is reduced as compared to a rate of change in the specific discharge amount relative to the electric current amount to be supplied to the solenoid under a condition that the specific discharge amount is larger.

A variable displacement vane pump having various construction arrangements, including a low pressure supply passage constantly connecting an inlet passage and an other of a first fluid pressure chamber and second fluid pressure chamber; a low pressure introduction port formed in the other of the pump body and the rear body, and opened in an other of the first fluid pressure chamber and the second fluid pressure chamber; and a low pressure introduction passage formed in the other of the pump body and the rear body, the low pressure introduction passage connecting the low pressure introduction port and the inlet ports.

Variable displacement vane pump

A variable displacement pump including a rotor, a plurality of vanes, a swingable cam ring, a suction port and a discharge port, wherein a dynamic radius of the vane which extends from a center of the rotor to a leading edge of the vane is gradually decreased in a closed section that is defined between a terminal end of the suction port and an initial end of the discharge port, along with rotation of the rotor, and a port timing defined as a position of the terminal end of the suction port or a position of the initial end of the discharge port with respect to a rotational position of the vane varies along with a swing motion of the cam ring.

Variable displacement vane pump with defined cam profile

A variable displacement vane pump includes a rotor, a swingable annular cam ring receiving therein the rotor, a pump body encasing the cam ring and rotor, and a pressure plate which is disposed between an end wall of the pump body and the rotor and which includes a backup surface and a sliding surface formed with an inlet port, an outlet port and a backpressure groove. The vane pump further includes a seal member which is provided between the backup surface of the pressure plate and the end wall of the pump body, and which includes an inlet-side segment extending on the radial inner side of the inlet port and the radial outer side of the backpressure groove, and an outlet-side segment extending on the radial outer side of the outlet port.

A pump apparatus includes a drive shaft supported rotatably in a pump body; a power transmission member attached to the drive shaft, and configured to transmit power to the drive shaft; a pump element configured to pressurize and discharge working fluid; a discharge passage formed in the pump body, and configured to introduce the pressurized working fluid-discharged from the pump element to an external of the pump body; a control valve configured to control an amount of working fluid to be discharged through the discharge passage to the external, by controlling a movement of a valving element of the control valve on the basis of the pressurized working fluid; and an electromagnetic valve provided between the power transmission member and the control valve, and configured to control the control valve or a fluid pressure acting on the valving element of the control valve based on the pressurized working fluid.

Pump apparatus

A variable displacement vane pump includes a pump body, a rotor, an annular cam ring, a rear body closing the pump body, a low pressure supply passage constantly connecting the inlet passage and the other of the first fluid pressure chamber and the second fluid pressure chamber, a low pressure introduction port formed in the other of the pressure plate and the rear body, and opened in the other of the first fluid pressure chamber and the second fluid pressure chamber, and a low pressure introduction passage formed in the other of the pressure plate and the rear body, the low pressure introduction passage connecting the low pressure introduction port and the inlet side vane back pressure grooves.

A variable displacement vane pump includes a first body, a second body, an adapter ring, a cam ring, and a rotor. The first body includes a cylinder portion, and a base portion covering a first longitudinal end of an inner space of the cylinder portion. The second body covers a second longitudinal end of the inner space of the first body. The adapter ring has an outer radial periphery fitted and fixed to an inner radial periphery of the cylinder portion of the first body. The cam ring is mounted inside the adapter ring and supported by the adapter ring for lateral motion in contact with the contact area of the adapter ring. The rotor is mounted inside the cam ring. The adapter ring has a radial thickness that gradually increases when followed longitudinally of the adapter ring from the base portion of the first body toward the second body.

Variable displacement vane pump and method of manufacturing the same

In a rotational phase adjusting apparatus for adjusting a difference in rotational phase between a first element and a second element by controlling an engagement therebetween through a third element whose condition is set by a movement of a fourth element, an elastic member is arranged between the fourth element and the one of the first and second elements, and a brake generates a variable braking force to be applied to the fourth element so that a rotational positional relationship between the fourth element and the one of the first and second elements and a value of a force applicable from the fourth element to the third element are elastically variable in accordance with a value of the variable braking force.

Rotational phase adjuster

A valve timing control system includes a driving plate, a lever provided to a camshaft, a radial slot formed in the driving plate, an intermediate rotator arranged rotatable with respect to the driving plate and the camshaft and having a spiral slot, and a link having a base end pivotally coupled to the lever and a front end arranged swingably and including a ball engaged with the spiral slot and a block member engaged with the radial slot. The ball has a center of engagement located on a swinging axis of the front end of the link, producing no moment.

Valve timing control system for internal combustion engine

In a valve timing control system, an intermediate rotator is rotated with respect to a driving plate and a lever shaft to make radial displacement of a ball engaged with a spiral slot of the intermediate rotator along a radial slot. The radial displacement is converted into relative rotation of the driving plate and the lever shaft through a link. A bottomed cylindrical guide member which is rotatably supported by a front end of the link has a base engaged with the spiral slot. The ball engaged with the spiral slot, a retainer for supporting the back of the ball, and a coil spring for biasing the ball through the retainer are accommodated in a hold hole of the guide member. Disengagement of the ball from the spiral slot is prevented by an abutment of an end face of the retainer and a bottom wall of the hold hole.

A valve timing control system includes a driving plate coupled to a crankshaft, a lever shaft coupled to a camshaft, a VTC housing, and an electromagnetic coil mounted to the VTC housing for producing a magnetic field to control a mounting angle formed between the driving plate and the lever shaft. The electromagnetic coil has rotation restricted and axial displacement allowed by the VTC housing, and is engaged with the lever shaft to enable rotation with respect thereto and axial displacement together therewith.

A rotary phase controller includes: a permanent magnet block, a yoke block, and an electromagnetic coil block. The permanent magnet block has a constitution where different magnetic pole surfaces are alternately arranged. The yoke block includes yokes. The yoke includes: a first pole tooth ring formed with first pole teeth opposing the magnetic pole surfaces, and a second pole tooth ring formed with second pole teeth opposing the magnetic pole surfaces. The first pole teeth and the second pole teeth are alternately disposed. The first pole teeth of the first yoke are shifted by a predetermined pitch circumferentially from the second pole teeth of the second yoke. The electromagnetic coil block includes electromagnetic coils. A first electromagnetic coil and a second electromagnetic coil have a magnetic input-output end opposing, via air gap, the first pole tooth ring and the second pole tooth ring of the first yoke and second yoke.

Rotary phase controller, and valve timing controller of internal combustion engine

A fluid pressure control valve comprises a valve housing slidably accommodating a valve spool which is responsive to an incoming fluid pressure for producing a controlled fluid pressure depending on an axial position of the spool, a biasing member disposed in the valve housing for biasing the spool in a pressure buildup direction, a reaction piston receiving the controlled fluid pressure to generate a reaction acting on the spool to move the spool in a pressure reduction direction, and an electromagnetic solenoid including a solenoid plunger having an outer diameter greater than the spool. The plunger engages the spool to move the spool in the pressure reduction direction by attraction of the solenoid. The biasing member includes a pilot piston engaging the spool and receiving the master-cylinder pressure to push the spool in the pressure buildup direction. A pressure-receiving area of the pilot piston is designed to be greater than that of the reaction piston by a predetermined amplification.
