An information provision device for a vehicle allows information to be provided to a user appropriately, and includes an onboard device having a first control means that operates a display unit, and an external device having a second control means that outputs information from outside the vehicle to the first control means. The display unit includes a first region in which vehicle-status information is displayed and a second region in which the information from outside the vehicle is displayed. The first control means can determine priorities for the vehicle-status information and the information from outside the vehicle. The first control means operates the display unit such that either the first region or the second region, which contains high-priority information, is larger than the other. If prescribed conditions occur, the first control means operates the display unit such that the region containing low-priority information is larger than the other.

Information provision device for vehicle

An information providing device for a vehicle, comprising an in-car device having a display unit for displaying vehicle state information and a first control means for activating the display unit; and an external device having a second control for outputting external information. The display unit has a first display area for displaying predetermined information, and a second display area for displaying other information. The first control implements a first display mode for displaying the vehicle state information and a second display mode for displaying the vehicle state information and the external information. In the second display mode, the first control means activates the display unit so that the external information is displayed in the second display area.

Information providing device for vehicle

A vehicle information provision device comprises an on-board device having a device unit with a display unit that displays each type of vehicle status to a user, and a first control means that operates the display unit; and a communications unit that communicates between the device unit and the external device that outputs external information about the vehicle to the device unit. The communications unit is configured so as to be connectable to the device unit via an attachment/detachment means, and outputs to the device unit signals including at least either a video signal or an audio signal, as the external information for the vehicle, when the device unit is connected to the communications unit via the attachment/detachment means.

The ground of the receiving section and the ground of the controlling section are electrically connected.

Keyless entry system

A instrumentation system is disclosed for providing improved reliability when used in a vehicle. The vehicle instrumentation system includes a plurality electronic component units and a reference portion which functions as a platform. The electronic component units have connecting portions, while the reference portion has mounting portions that have a plug-in structure. The electronic component units are mounted to the reference portion via the mounting portions. The vehicle instrumentation system receives current through the connecting portion of one of the electronic component units and through the connector of the reference portion. Current through the reference portion is prevented from introducing noise through the connecting portions of the electronic component units because it passes directly from the vehicle battery through a fuse box.

Instrumentation for vehicles

A vehicle instrumentation system comprising a meter block having a display portion, a control portion, and a power supply portion. The display portion provides a display according to signals from the electronic component units. The control portion controls the electronic component units. The electric power supply portion supplies electric power to the electronic component units. These electronic component units are obtained by classifying and integrating electronic components other than the meter block. A mounting reference portion permits the meter block and the electronic component units to be attached and detached.

Meter device for vehicle

Electronic components other than a meter unit are classified and integrated into plural electronic component units. Input/output ports (attach-and-detach means) permitting the detachable electronic component units to be mounted to and detached from the meter unit are provided. This meter unit includes a meter block having a control portion and a power supply portion. The control portion controls the electronic component units. The power supply portion supplies electric power to the electronic component units. The electronic component units are controlled and electrically energized via the input/output ports.
