In an electronic device, a storage device registers registered data and a name of the registered data in association with a number of a one-touch key. A control device functions as a detector, a controller, and a releaser. When an operation device receives a request for registration of new registered data, the detector detects the number of the one-touch key satisfying a release condition. The controller displays the number of the one-touch key satisfying the condition in association with the name of the registered data corresponding to the number on a display device. The releaser registers data corresponding to a selected number of a one-touch key among numbers of one-touch keys satisfying the condition and a name of the registered data, in association with an unregistered number of a one-touch key, and releases a one-touch key having a number assigned to the registered data and the name of the data.

An image forming apparatus includes plural internal devices, a controller, and a communication path. The controller is configured to control the plural internal devices. The communication path is used for communication between the plural internal devices and the controller. Usage priority of the communication path is assigned to plural pieces of communication between the plural internal devices and the controller in a time divisional manner. The controller detects a status change of the image forming apparatus, and upon detecting the status change, interrupts the time divisional manner with a time slot of a specific internal device among the plural internal devices, the specific internal device corresponding to the status change.

A control portion shifts a state of a self-apparatus to a power saving mode if a duration of an operation event wait state has reached a preset power saving shift set time. Further, the control portion temporarily changes the power saving shift set time to a longer time if an extension condition is satisfied. The extension condition includes occurrence, with a predetermined frequency, of a situation where a target parameter value satisfies a predetermined short-term return condition. The target parameter value is a duration of the power saving mode at a time of state return or a value of a parameter which changes in accordance with the duration of the power saving mode.

A post-processing apparatus according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes a punching apparatus that has: a punching blade; an orthogonal direction movement portion that moves the punching blade in an orthogonal direction; a converting mechanism that converts rotational movement of a rotation member in a first rotation direction to reciprocating movement; a rotation driving portion that drives rotation of the rotation member; a rotation driving control portion; and an orthogonal direction movement control portion. The rotation driving control portion controls the rotation driving portion so as to move the punching blade toward a punching reference position when a reference position detection portion determines that the punching blade has moved beyond the punching reference position toward a through hole punching position, in a case where the punching blade is controlled so as to stop at the punching reference position.

The folding device includes a folding unit and a prior moving unit. The folding unit performs the folding process on the paper aligned by the alignment member positioned at the folding position. The prior moving unit moves the alignment member from the folding position to the home position or the alignment position according to a position of the end of the paper being moved in the folding process. This can put ahead the starting time for moving the alignment members and reduce the time required for a subsequent folding process, thereby improving efficiency (productivity) of the folding process as a whole.

A post-processing device includes a processing tray on which sheets are to be stacked, a transport portion for transporting, a sheet introduced through an introduction port, a turn-aside portion for turning aside the sheet to delay arrival of the sheet at the processing tray, and a delivery mechanism for delivering the sheets stacked on the processing tray to a delivery tray on a boundary between copies. When a remaining number of sheets of one copy unstacked on the processing tray exceeds a maximum number of stacked sheets that is an amount of sheets stackable on the processing tray, the delivery mechanism delivers a sheet stack of the one copy a plurality of times so as to avoid delivery of only one sheet on a last page of the one copy, and the turn-aside portion turns aside a sheet on a first page to be stacked after delivering the sheet bundle.

Provided is a sheet feeder, which includes: a sheet placing table; a rotary body which is movable and sends out sheets; a sheet placement detection portion for detecting placement of sheets; an upper limit detection portion for detecting that the rotary body has reached an upper limit position; a transport detection portion for detecting transport of sheets; and a control part which rotates the rotary body so as to perform sheet feeding operation regardless of a detection state of the upper limit detection portion when sheets are set on the sheet placing table, determines that a non-feed jam has occurred when no sheet arriving is detected, and stops rotating the rotary body by determining that the sheet feeder is brought into a sheet feeding restriction state, when sheets are set again on the sheet placing table and the rotary body is detected to be in the upper limit position.

An apparatus for encrypted communication in which transmission data is encrypted based upon a cipher key and is transmitted. The received encrypted data is decrypted based upon a cipher key. A cipher key checker checks for agreement of the cipher keys by decoding the decrypted received data. The cipher key checker decodes the decrypted data in a unit of a preselected number of lines and determines whether the data are properly decoded or not.
