An abrasive article having a removable support sheet having a first major surface. An image layer containing inks applied over the first major surface. A polyurethane backing layer having a first major backing surface located adjacent to the image layer and a second major backing surface opposite the first major surface. A functional layer comprising an abrasive layer applied to the second major surface; the abrasive layer comprising a make coat, abrasive particles and a size coat.

Flexible abrasive article with image layer

Provided are abrasive articles having a plurality of elongated channels extending across its working surface and intersecting with each other. These channels provide hinge points that enhance flexibility of the article along two or more directions. Optionally, the abrasive article includes a flexible attachment layer, along with apertures that penetrate through the attachment layer located at the intersection points of the channels. The enhanced flexibility allows the abrasive article to easily access recessed areas of the workpiece and facilitates applying even pressure across convex and concave surfaces. The channels assist in segregating dust particles from the abrading operation, and the optional apertures can be advantageously connected to a vacuum source for evacuation of the dust particles from the channels.

An image-recording transparent film comprising a transparent substrate and a toner-receiving layer provided at least on one major surface of the substrate, the toner-receiving layer comprising a light-transmitting resin having a softening point of 90 to 180&deg; C., and from 0.1 to 40 parts by weight of an amide nonionic surfactant based on 100 parts by weight of the light-transmitting resin which surfactant is in a compatible state with the light-transmitting resin.

The invention provides a recording sheet including an additive, referred to herein as a compatibilizer, to improve the quality of images formed by toner powder development of electrostatic charge patterns. Recording sheets, carrying images produced by toner powder transfer and fusion on a receptor surface, according to the present invention, exhibit improved light transmission and reduced light scattering. Specifically, a transparent sheet is provided having a toner-receptive coating containing about 4 wt. % to about 25 wt. % of a compatibilizer on at least one surface, wherein the coating has a low density yellow Q factor value at least 2 less than an identical coating without the compatibilizer.
