An inspection apparatus including an illumination light source, a sensing probe and a processing device is provided. The illumination light source emits an illumination beam to simultaneously irradiate the plurality of light-emitting diode. The sensing probe is configured to measure a charge distribution, an electric field distribution, or a voltage distribution on the plurality of light-emitting diodes simultaneously irradiated by the illumination beam. The processing device determines a plurality of electro-optical characteristics of the plurality of light-emitting diodes through the charge distribution, the electric field distribution, or the voltage distribution on the plurality of light-emitting diodes simultaneously irradiated by the illumination beam. Moreover, a method of for inspecting light-emitting diodes is also provided.

Method for inspecting light-emitting diodes and inspection apparatus

A method for inspecting light-emitting diodes (LEDs) including following steps is provided. A plurality of LEDs are provided. A charge distribution, an electrical field distribution, or a voltage distribution on the LEDs that are irradiated by an illumination beam at the same time are inspected by a sensing probe, so as to determine electro-optical characteristics of the LEDs. Besides, an inspection apparatus is also provided.

To obtain truly flexible electro-optic films for image display or other related applications and to obtain a low cost solution for making electro-optic films, a new concept for manufacturing such films is disclosed. The method disclosed in this invention include mixing liquid crystal with 'sponge particles' having fibril or porous surface morphology, coating such mixture directly on substrates with conductive electrodes and laminating with release liner or another substrate having conductive electrodes. The electro-optic films manufactured by using traditional R2R coating techniques. The electro-optic film manufactured by the method disclosed in the invention can be used for segment type, passive matrix type or active matrix type display applications or other related applications.

An electro-optical modulator includes a substrate, a first electrode over the substrate, a second electrode over the first electrode, the first electrode and second electrode being capable of providing an electric field between the first electrode and the second electrode, and a modulating structure between the first electrode and the second electrode, the modulating structure containing at least one liquid crystal cell capable of operating in one of a reflective mode and a transmissive mode under the control of the electrical field.

Liquid crystal electro-optical modulator and method of optical modulation

The present invention provides an apparatus for automatically adjusting display parameters relying on visual performance and its method. The present apparatus includes a display, a detecting system and a control system. The detecting system is disposed in a predetermined position to detect visual performance of a user operating the display. The control system adjusts the display parameters according to the visual performance variation of the user. As such, the user can comfortably operate the display for long and the visual fatigue is reduced.

A liquid crystal device including a first electrode substrate, a second electrode substrate and a liquid crystal layer is provided. The liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first electrode substrate and the second electrode substrate. The liquid crystal layer comprises liquid crystal molecules and particles. The liquid crystal molecules are vertically aligned when the applied voltage between the first electrode substrate and the second electrode substrate is less than a threshold voltage. The arrangement of the liquid crystal molecules is changed so as to produce optical changes in the liquid crystal device when the applied voltage between the first electrode substrate and the second electrode substrate is not less than the threshold voltage.

A method provides for inspecting flexible display medium layer, on which a driving electrode structure to be formed is not complete or there is no driving electrode structure. The flexible display medium layer passes an inspection area. Then, the inspected method is applied to inspect a performance of the flexible display medium layer on a corresponding region being passing the inspection area. The inspected results are recorded, in which the information for indicating a functional performance of the flexible display medium layer is recorded or shown according to a performance level. An apparatus can inspect the flexible display medium layer in accordance with the foregoing method.

Method and apparatus for inspecting flexible display medium layer

A display device is provided, which includes a first structural substrate with multiple pixel regions. At least one of the pixel regions has an emissive region and a reflective region. A wall structure is located on the first structural substrate, and surrounds a periphery of the emissive region and the reflective region for separating the emissive region and the reflective region. An emissive structure is disposed in the emissive region of the first structural substrate. A reflective displaying structure is disposed in the reflective region of the first structural substrate. In addition, a second structural substrate covers the wall structure.

Display device and method for fabricating display device

A transflective electrophoretic display device is disclosed. The device is comprised of a transparent top substrate and both top and bottom substrates have an electrode structure. A plurality of separated walls and an electrophoretic display solution including a plurality of chromatic particles and a transparent liquid are imposed between the two substrates. A device with a display liquid or a filter plate is used to generate a variety of lights such as monochromatic, color-level or true color having a mixture of red, green and blue. The device of the present invention integrates the merits of the reflective and transmitted displayer, and can be used outdoors, indoors or in darkness. Otherwise, a back light module can compensate for the contrast of the displayer effectively.

Transflective electrophoretic display device

A transflective electrophoretic display and a method for manufacturing the same are proposed. The transflective electrophoretic display including a top substrate and a bottom substrate, multiple separating walls disposed between the top and bottom substrates, a transflective film, and an electrophoretic display medium, can be designed to display colors by using multicolor electrophoretic display media or color filters. The display can be viewed with or without ambient light by adopting a backlight module, as well as to improve the overall display quality.

Transflective electrophoretic display and manufacturing method thereof

A system for inspecting a flexible device is provided, which is used for performing a performance inspection on a flexible device in a bending state, or after the flexible device has finished bending test so as to obtain a mechanical reliability. The inspecting system includes: at least one bending unit with at least one curvature; a conveyor unit used for conveying the flexible device so that a portion of the flexible device is passed through the bending unit and is bent into a bending portion; an inspecting unit performs a performance inspection on the flexible device. The performance inspection includes electrical, optical, or opto-electric inspection, and an inspection result can be recorded, displayed or both. The inspected flexible devices may be a flexible display device with complete or incomplete electrode thereon. In addition, a method for inspecting a flexible device is also provided.
