A method for obtaining plug combination of detecting apparatus, a method for obtaining power line topology and an electronic apparatus using the same are provided. The method for obtaining plug combination of detecting apparatus includes the following steps: retrieving a first amount of at least one detecting apparatus and a second amount of at least one socket; generating plug combinations between the at least one detecting apparatus and the at least one socket; calculating a total socket relationship value according to the second amount; setting specific plug times and a specific socket relationship value of a specific plug combination according to the first amount; and finding a candidate plug combination among reference plug combinations according to the specific socket relationship value, the total socket relationship value and a distance between the specific plug combination and each of the reference plug combinations.

An electronic device and a detection method thereof for detecting an appliance are provided herein. The detection method includes: selectively providing a first test load to connect with the appliance or providing a first test signal to the appliance; detecting a first voltage/current value of the appliance when the appliance is connected with the first test load or when the appliance receives the first test signal; generating a first voltage/current signature data according to the first voltage/current value; and identifying a type of the appliance according to the first voltage/current signature data.

Electronic device and detection method thereof

A power monitoring device for identifying the state of an electric appliance based on user feedbacks and a power monitoring method thereof are provided. The power monitoring device includes a measurement module, a variation detection and search module, and an electric appliance signature database established based on user feedbacks. When the measurement module detects a variation of a power consumption feature, the variation detection and search module searches the electric appliance signature database according to the variation to obtain electric appliances similar to the variation and the states thereof. A user contributes data to the electric appliance signature database by confirming the search result, or selecting the correct electric appliance and the state thereof. When the user confirms the search result, the power monitoring device establishes an association between the electric appliance and its electric appliance signatures and updates the electric appliance signature database.

A method and system for detecting an appliance based on users' feedback information, particularly a nonintrusive load monitoring method and system based on a user's feedback information and a joint strategic decision search algorithm are disclosed. By means of obtaining the users' feedback information on an appliance inputted by users or a search result of the appliances being confirmed by the users to generate a mapping between the model of the appliances and at least one load signature of each model of appliances; the users' feedback information is recorded into a smart meter or a cloud computing system, and a mathematical analysis is further used to compute an occurrence of any one signature of the appliance and the identification rate of each signature; then the joint strategic decision search algorithm automatically identifies various models of appliances and analyzes the operating states of the electric appliances in homes or offices.

This invention discloses a data inquiry system for three-dimensional location-based image, video, and information, which comprises a client device and a remote server. The client device provides space parameters and lens parameters to the remote server through a transmission module. The remote server determines a space inquiry range by the space parameter and lens parameter, inquires an object data of an object space position parameter at the space inquiry range, shows the object data in an image data displayed by the client device to facilitate users to identify the desired viewing object, and further inquires the object data and related image and/or video data.

Methods performed by a mobile node (MN) in a secured network for handoff of communication from a serving access point (AP) to a target AP are provided. In a bounded delay channel switching (BDCS) method, the MN periodically switches between a first channel and one of multiple other channels during handoff, utilizes the first channel to transmit/receive packets to/from a corresponding node (CN) via the serving AP and utilizes one of the other channels to perform the handoff procedure to the target AP. In a dual-MAC switching (DMS) method, the MN employs a first MAC (medium access control) address to transmit/receive packets to/from the serving AP and a second MAC address to perform the handoff procedure to the target AP. The BDCS and DMS methods may be used concurrently, and may be used in a secured network that complies with, e.g., the IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.1x or IEEE 802.11i plus IEEE 802.11f standards.

A method for providing a multicast and broadcast service (MBS) by transmitting a plurality of data frames in a wireless network. The method includes: generating a first MBS data information element (MBS-DATA-IE) in a first one of the data frames, the first MBS-DATA-IE including information relating to a logical channel of the MBS, and indicating a location of an MBS map (MBS-MAP) in a second one of the data frames; determining ones of the data frames between the first and second ones of the data frames in which to add a plurality of extra MBS-DATA-IEs; and generating the extra MBS-DATA-IEs, the extra MBS-DATA-IEs being generated in the determined ones of the data frames and including information relating to the logical channel.

System and method for providing multicast and broadcast services

A method for controlling a first interface and a second interface installed on a mobile node is provided, wherein the mobile node communicates with a first access network (AN) through the first interface and communicates with a second AN through the second interface. The method comprises following steps. A first IP address is acquired through the first interface and the first AN for accessing a service network (SN). A second IP address is acquired through the second interface and the second AN for accessing the SN. The first interface is then selected as an awake interface. The second bridging node is directed to create and cache binding information indicating a binding of the second IP address to the first IP address. The second interface is turned off after the binding information is successfully created and cached on the second bridging node.

Method and system for managing idle mode of a mobile node with multiple interfaces

Disclosed is a load balancing apparatus and method in wireless network hotspots, which comprises a resource allocation module and a load balancer. The resources reallocation module establishes the resources module and the relationship between access points (APs) and STAs in the wireless network hotspots, and seeks possible load balance shift paths (LBSPs). From these possible LBSPs, an LBSP is selected. Based on the selected LBSP, the load balancer reallocates network resources and dynamically arranges the load among the APs in the wireless network hotspots. This invention can be applicable to a centralized or a decentralized wireless communication system.

A system and method for reducing call establishment delay in wireless network is provided, in which a network node establishes a call to a wireless terminal controlled by an AP via a server. The wireless terminal notifies the server of its listen interval. In the power saving mode, the wireless terminal wakes up every listen interval and listen the beacon to check whether any buffered packet for it. When the wireless terminal learns from the beacon that there are packets waiting, it communicates with the access point to retrieve them. The server records a listen time at which the wireless terminal will wake up and listen to the AP based on the listen interval. When a network node calls the wireless terminal, the server buffers the request for a time interval based on the listen time, and then sends the request to the wireless terminal.

A system and method for reducing call establishment delay in wireless network is provided, in which a network node establishes a call to a wireless terminal controlled by an AP via a sever. The wireless terminal notifies the server of its listen interval. In the power saving mode, the wireless terminal wakes up every listen interval and listen the beacon to check whether any buffered packet for it. When the wireless terminal learns from the beacon that there are packets waiting, it communicates with the access point to retrieve them. The server records a listen time at which the wireless terminal will wake tip and listen to the AP based on the listen interval. The packet transmitting method determines whether the packet to be transmitted is a real-time packet or not, and, when the packet is a real-time packet, a re-transmission mechanism of the packet is determined to be ON or OFF according to the transmission status of the wireless network itself.
