A near field communications (NFC) device is disclosed that interacts with other NFC devices to exchange information and/or the data. The NFC device can include a plurality of secure elements each configured to store one or more card emulation instances. Each card emulation instance is associated with an application identification (AID) and a priority value. The NFC device can route communications between another NFC device and plurality of secure elements based on each card emulation instance's associated AID and priority value.

Systems and methods for determining whether a companion communication device is beyond a proximity of a primary communication device are provided. In some aspects, a system includes an analysis module configured to determine whether a wireless transaction between the primary communication device and the companion communication device is at a conclusion. The system also includes a communications module configured to emit a sensing signal based on the determination of whether the transaction is at the conclusion. The sensing signal is insufficient to elicit a response from the companion communication device. The system also includes a detection module configured to detect a present parameter associated with the emitted sensing signal. The analysis module is configured to determine a parameter change between the present parameter and a reference parameter, and to determine whether the companion communication device is beyond the proximity of the primary communication device based on the parameter change.

A method, apparatus, and system for tracking and locating Bluetooth enabled devices is described. A network of Bluetooth sniffers can be used to rapidly locate lost devices and their owners. Wearable child devices maintain low power contact with parent devices until such time as a signal limit is reached, at which point the parent devices alarm. An optional network of fixed sniffing devices can be used to coordinate a search for lost child devices once an alert is issued to the system.

Aspects of a method and system for advertising a Bluetooth multicast feature are provided. A master device may provide a multicast service to active slave devices during a Bluetooth piconet connection. A Bluetooth multicast packet addressed to a specific slave device may be transmitted over a point-to-point connection. The multicast packet may be decoded and acknowledged by each of the slave devices on the piconet. The master device may re-transmit the multicast packet addressed to the specific slave device over the same point-to-point connection when an acknowledgment or response indicating a reception of the multicast packet from each of active slave devices may not be detected. The point-to-point connection may be associated with a L2CAP channel identified by a determined unique channel identifier (M-CID). The point- to-point connection may be secured by assigning a common authentication key shared among the slaves of the piconet.
