Low profile, contoured footplates that maintain tension in the plantar fascia without causing undue discomfort to the user are suggested for treatment of plantar fasciitis and other heel pain. The footplates may be ambidextrous and thus used to support either the left and right plantar fascia. The footplates can be used in assemblies for securing the footplate to the wearer's foot, as well as systems for iterative treatment of plantar fasciitis and other heel pain.

Plantar fascia support system

A wrist brace comprises (a) a main brace body, (b) an adjustable wrist strap configured to encircle the main brace body about a wearer's wrist, and (c) a lace and rotatable tightening mechanism. The main brace body comprises a semi-rigid splint configured to fit the anterior of a wearer's wrist, extending from the palm to a portion of the anterior of the forearm. The lace and tightening rotatable mechanism is configured to apply tension on the lace thereby tightening the wrist strap about the wearer's wrist and drawing the splint closer to the anterior of the wearer's wrist.

The disclosure relates to medical braces having lacing systems for tightening of the medical braces. Some embodiments include multiple components of the lacing system integrated into a single housing piece. For example, multiple reels can be used to tighten different portions of the lacing system, and the multiple reels can be mounted onto a single housing. Also, multiple lace guides can be integrated into, or attached to, a single housing piece.

An orthopedic support for supporting a joint of a wearer is provided and includes a sheet of flexible laminate material configured to at least partially enclose the joint. The orthopedic support also includes a spacer material attached to the sheet of material about at least a portion of its outer periphery, and at least one strap integrally defined in the sheet of material and configured to tension and secure the sheet of material about the wearer's joint.

A back brace for supporting a lower back region of a wearer that includes a strapping system that supports a lumbar support panel at the lower back region of the wearer. The lumbar support panel includes an inner surface adjacent to the wearer's back defining a pair of raised support regions that have convexly curved outer surfaces and medial edges spaced apart from each other. Advantageously, the spacing between the medial edges provides clearance for the lower spine of the wearer to prevent discomfort. In addition, the convexly curved medial edges improve the support panel's fit to the contours of the wearer's back and avoid pressure points on the wearer's erector spinae musculature through a relatively even pressure distribution on the musculature. The lumbar support panel also may include a plurality of ventilation holes and may be constructed of 'skin-friendly' materials that wick moisture away and allow air in for additional comfort.
