The insert is placed within the recess of the adapter, and the insert includes an internal recess. The magnetic coupler is received within the internal recess of the insert.

In accordance with a particular embodiment of the present invention, a system for coupling excavation equipment components includes a pin assembly configured to couple a first tool body to a second tool body. The pin assembly is configured to be received at least partially within a pin bore of the second tool body. The pin assembly includes an elongate insert having a first end and a second end. The insert defines a plug bore extending at least partially through the insert from the first end. The pin assembly also includes a first plug that is configured to be received at least partially within the first end of the insert.

System and method for coupling excavation equipment components

A removable adapter assembly includes a tapered body portion having a first end configured to receive a tooth horn, and a second end configured to receive a removable tooth. The tapered body may include first and second sides, which partially define a recess adjacent the first end. First and second interior surfaces of the first and second sides, respectively, have first and second gripping surfaces, respectively. The first and second gripping surfaces are configured to cooperate with a retractable insert that is coupled with the tooth horn. The tapered body is coupled with the tooth horn when the retractable insert is in a first extended position, and the tapered body may be removed from the tooth horn when the insert is in a second, retracted position.

A system for coupling excavation equipment components is provided. The system includes a retainer pin having first and second detents which are extendable axially from a surface of the retainer pin, in response to rotation of a valve seated at least partially within a cylindrical bore which extends at least partially through the retainer pin. In accordance with the particular embodiment, the valve includes at least one slotted portion configured to receive the detents at least partially therein, when the detents are in a retracted position.

Apparatus and method for coupling an excavation tooth assembly

A tooth assembly for an excavating machine includes an adapter having first and second surfaces and first and second sides. The first surface of the adapter is generally tapered and converges toward a first end of the adapter. A tooth point is coupled with the adapter at the first end of the adapter, and the tooth point has a contact edge opposite the first end of the adapter. The tooth point also includes first and second sides, the first side having a slot adapted to receive a non-rotation ridge of a retainer pin to prevent rotation of the retainer pin with respect to the tooth point. A second end of the adapter is adapted to be removably coupled with a tooth horn. The tooth assembly further includes a central portion extending generally from the first side of the adapter to the second side, the central portion defining a central bore. In accordance with a particular embodiment of the present invention, a retainer pin with a non-rotation ridge may be coupled with the central portion of the tooth assemble at least partially within the central bore.

A tooth assembly for mounting on the tooth horns of excavating or levelling apparatus buckets, shovels or alternative digging mechanisms. In a preferred embodiment the tooth assembly includes a wedge-shaped adapter for seating on a tooth horn, an insert removably seated in an insert cavity provided in each side of the adapter and a tooth point frontally engaging and bolted to the adapter by means of bolts threaded in the inserts, for engaging the material to be excavated. In another preferred embodiment top and bottom wear caps transversely slidably engage and bolt to the adapter adjacent to the tooth point for extending the life of the tooth assembly in the excavating or levelling operation.

A tightline apparatus for draglines which includes a pair of mechanical safety devices, each having an engaging bar pivotally attached to a swivel frame of the dragline above each drag rope at the point where the respective drag rope extends between each set of guide rollers. A limit switch is also mounted on each fairlead frame in close proximity to the corresponding engaging bar, such that movement of the drag ropes upwardly responsive to swinging of the dragline bucket past a predetermined point toward the boom causes the drag ropes to engage the engaging bar element of each tightline apparatus and pivot the engaging bar into contact with the limit switches, respectively, to terminate operation of the dragline bucket.

A tooth assembly for mounting on the tooth horns of excavating or levelling apparatus buckets, shovels or alternative digging mechanisms. The tooth assembly includes a wedge-shaped adapter shaped for seating on the tooth horn, a tooth point transversely slidably engaging and bolted or otherwise locked to the adapter for engaging the material to be excavated and top and bottom wear caps also transversely slidably engaging and bolted to the adapter adjacent to the tooth point, for extending the life of the tooth assembly in the excavating or levelling operation.
