An adapter connector includes a terminal assembly, a first adapter housing and a second adapter housing. The terminal assembly includes a first terminal clamping portion at a first end and a second terminal clamping portion at a second end. The terminal assembly includes a first terminal module including a first insulating block, a number of first adapter terminals, a first metal shield provided on a first side of the first insulating block, a second metal shield provided on a second side of the first insulating block, and a first conductive plate. The first adapter terminals include a number of first ground terminals. The first metal shield is in contact with one side of the first grounding terminals, and the first conductive plate is in contact with another side of the first ground terminal.

A board end connector and a connector assembly. The board end connector comprises a board end insulating body, a terminal module, and a housing. The board end insulating body comprises a board end plugging surface and a plugging slot. The plugging slot is disposed on the board end plugging surface and comprises two interference sidewalls which are oppositely disposed. The terminal module is disposed in the board end insulating body. The housing is disposed on one side of the board end insulating body. A plugging bump member is provided on one side of the housing. The plugging bump member is disposed in the plugging slot. An interfering bump is provided on at least one side of the plugging bump member. The interfering bump interferes with at least one of the two interference sidewalls to increase the holding force between the housing and the board end insulating body.

An adapter connector includes a terminal assembly, a first adapter housing and a second adapter housing. The terminal assembly includes a first terminal clamping portion at a first end and a second terminal clamping portion at a second end. The first adapter housing includes a number of first receiving grooves for receiving the first terminal clamping portion. The second adapter housing includes a number of second receiving grooves for receiving the second terminal clamping portion. The terminal assembly is provided with a first lock assembly locked with the first adapter housing and a second lock assembly locked with the second adapter housing. This arrangement facilitates the assembly of the adapter connector.

The first metal shield is in contact with the first ground terminals. The present disclosure increases the shielding area and improves the quality of signal transmission. An electrical connector module includes an insulating body, a number of conductive terminals and a retaining piece. The insulating body includes an end wall. The end wall has an end surface and a protrusion. The retaining piece includes a main body and a mounting portion for being mounted to a circuit board. The main body includes a frame portion. The frame portion includes a mounting opening and a barb protruding into the mounting opening. The mounting opening is sleeved on the protrusion. The barb at least partially pierces into the protrusion for fixation. The present disclosure also discloses an electrical connector formed by combining a number of electrical connector modules.
