The present invention relates to ink-jet transfer papers that can be printed with images using ink-jet printers. The ink-jet printable transfer papers comprise a support paper having a surface coated with layer (a) and ink-receptive layer (b). Layer (a) comprises a polyurethane binder and inorganic pigment, and layer (b) comprises a polyurethane binder and organic polymeric particles. The printed image can be heat-transferred to fabric materials particularly dark-colored fabrics such as black T-shirts.

Ink-jet printable transfer papers for use with fabric materials

The present invention relates to ink-jet transfer media that can be printed with images using ink-jet printers. The printed image can be thermally transferred to fabric materials such as black or white colored T-shirts. The ink-jet transfer media of this invention comprise a support paper containing independently removable panels. Each removable panel is capable of being peeled away from the film coating. The removable panels are divided by means of a peel line in the paper.

A water insoluble absorbent coating material comprising a water-insoluble network prepared by combining at least one silicon-containing monomer, at least one water- and solvent-soluble polymer, and, optionally, at least one acidic catalytic component, is provided. A water-insoluble absorbent coating material suitable for use as an ink receptive coating layer in an ink jet film is also provided as are ink jet recording media containing such ink receptive coating layers.

The present invention provides a water-insoluble ink receptive coating comprising a gelatin, a water-insoluble quaternary cationic polymer, which are crosslinked together by a multifunctional cross-linking agent to form a water-insoluble ink receptive coating layer for ink jet recording. The ink receptive coatings can additionally contain a pigment to make a matte or glossy medium with no tacky feel.

The present invention is directed to an ink jet recording medium. The ink jet recording medium has an ink absorbent layer provided upon a substrate, with a humidity barrier layer provided upon the ink absorbent layer. The ink absorbent layer comprises a blend of poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline), poly(vinyl pyrollidone), and a hydrophobic polymer, and the humidity barrier layer comprises a blend of polyethylene oxide and boehmite alumina. The ink jet recording medium is fast drying over different relative humidity conditions, making it particularly suitable for high speed printing applications.

A water-insoluble liquid-absorbent material comprising a cross-linked matrix containing a polymer having at least two cross-linkable functional end groups and substantially free of cross-linking functional groups elsewhere within the polymer that are crosslinked with a cross-linking agent having a functionality greater than two, and in combination therewith, a dye-fixing agent having at least one reactive functional group. An ink jet recording medium having a coating of the water-insoluble liquid-absorbent material on a surface thereof is also provided.
