Systems and methods are provided for a wet-mate connector assembly that can include a stiffening material and a dielectric grease retainer for preventing the extrusion of dielectric grease during a wet connect. The wet-mate connector assembly can include a male portion and a female portion that can receive the male portion to form an electrical connection with the male portion. The wet-mate connector assembly can also include a dielectric grease retainer that can be positioned near the male portion and the female portion for retaining dielectric grease extruded from a contact chamber when the female portion receives the male portion. The dielectric grease retainer can seal and insulate the contact chamber. The contact chamber can be defined by an outer diameter of the male portion and an inner diameter of the female portion. The male portion and the female portion can include a stiffening material and an insulating material.

A system and method for performing subterranean operations. The system may comprise an expandable liner hanger positioned within a casing string, wherein the expandable liner hanger comprises a spiked portion having one or more anchoring ridges, each of the one or more anchoring ridges extending in a circular ring along an outer perimeter of the expandable liner hanger, and one or more weep holes are positioned in a space between adjacent ones of the one or more anchoring ridges. The method for coupling a liner to a casing string of a cased wellbore in a subterranean formation may comprise coupling an expandable liner hanger to the liner, inserting the liner and the expandable liner hanger downhole through the casing string, and expanding the plurality of anchoring ridges.

A sealing apparatus and related method for sealing an annular space between concentrically disposed members. In an exemplary embodiment, the method includes providing a sealing ring within the annular space, the sealing ring defining oppositely inclined interior and exterior surfaces each having a generally frusto-conical shape and defining opposing first and second edges, a nose adjoining the respective first edges of the interior and exterior surfaces, and a first convex surface adjoining the respective second edges of the interior and exterior surfaces opposite the nose; and forming a seal against a fluid pressure in the annular space, comprising depressing the first convex surface of the sealing ring so that the interior and exterior surfaces thereof expand radially to exert contact stress on each of the concentrically disposed members.
