To realize polarization MIMO in a more suitable form in a mobile communication apparatus. A communication apparatus includes a plurality of antenna parts configured to receive or transmit a wireless signal, a communication control part configured to control transmitting or receiving the wireless signal via at least any of the plurality of antenna parts, and a casing housing the communication control part, in which each of the plurality of antenna parts is held near each of a plurality of partial regions normal directions of which cross each other or the normal directions of which are mutually twisted in outer faces of the casing, and transmit or receive a first wireless signal and a second wireless signal propagating in directions substantially orthogonal to the partial regions and having mutually different polarization directions.

Communication apparatus

A communication apparatus includes a plurality of antenna parts configured to receive or transmit a wireless signal, a communication control part configured to control transmitting or receiving the wireless signal via at least any of the plurality of antenna parts, and a casing housing the communication control part, in which each of the plurality of antenna parts is held near each of a plurality of partial regions normal directions of which cross each other or the normal directions of which are mutually twisted in outer faces of the casing, and transmit or receive a first wireless signal and a second wireless signal propagating in directions substantially orthogonal to the partial regions and having mutually different polarization directions.

Even a thin communication device is enabled to transmit or receive a polarized wave having a polarization direction substantially coinciding with a thickness direction of the communication device. An antenna device includes a first substrate extending in a first direction, a second substrate supported on the first substrate, and extending in both the first direction and a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, and an antenna element supported on a surface of the second substrate, the surface having a normal direction substantially coinciding with a third direction orthogonal to both the first direction and the second direction, and configured to transmit or receive a wireless signal having a polarization direction substantially coinciding with the second direction.

An antenna device includes a dielectric substrate, a plurality of antenna elements that disposed along a first direction and respectively transmits or receives a first wireless signal and a second wireless signal having different polarization directions from one another, and a ground plate provided with a long slot to extend in a second direction in a region corresponding to a region between first and second antenna elements next to each other, and a length L in the second direction of the slop satisfies a conditional expression below where a wavelength of the wireless signal is &#x3bb;, a relative dielectric constant of the dielectric substrate is &#x3b5;, and a relative dielectric constant of a dielectric located on an opposite side of the dielectric substrate with respect to the ground plate is &#x3b5;.
