A level having a frame with an edge rail and a web extending from the edge rail at right angles. A web opening is provided in the web. A capsule assembly is mounted on the web at the web opening. The capsule assembly has a transparent capsule having a liquid therein and outer cover plates mounted over the capsule on each side of the web. The volume of the liquid in the capsule is less then the volume of the interior of the capsule so that an upper surface of the liquid is formed in the entire surface of which is viewable through the transparent capsule.

Wave level

A level having a pair of opposed edge rails, a web connecting the edge rails together, one of edge rails having an edge rail window therein with a cavity in the web communicating with the edge window. A vial assembly is mounted at said cavity in which the vial may be viewed from the edge rail window or from the sides of the web. Web openings may also be provided in the web with vial holding assemblies mounted in each web opening.

Vial holding level

A mitre box having a base and a saw holder assembly pivotally mounted for angular movement over the base. The saw holder assembly is adapted to hold a saw and is capable of being locked at a predetermined angular position over the base.

Mitre box

A miter box having a base and opposed side walls. A one slot in each of the side walls in alignment and coextensive with each other. A channel formed in the base. A holding assembly having a guide extending into the channel and movable along the channel relative one of the side walls. A locking element to lock the holding means at a predetermined position along the channel and at a predetermined space from the side wall.

Miter box

A container is provided which includes a closed compartment which is formed by a stay wet tray and a cover. The stay wet tray covers a cavity formed in a base. The base includes projecting portions and recesses for supporting and shaping artists' brushes and the stay wet tray facilitates storage of wet palettes, partially completed art work and paper. The cover includes projecting portions which prevent unwanted curling and drying of sheets of paper which are placed on the stay wet tray. A flange around the base adjacent to the cover provides holes for storing brushes.

Brush tub

A spirit level having a sub-assembly on the body. The sub-assembly has a vial holder having two spaced pockets. A curved vial having two ends received in the pockets and resilient ribs having a curve matched to the vial and engaging the vial to hold the vial in an adjusted position. Each vial can be adjusted relative to a separate vial holder and each vial holder/vial sub-assembly can be independently adjusted and set relative to an appropriate edge of the level. The vial snaps into a fixed receptacle on either side of the vial holder. One side of the holder is curved to match the curve of the vial to insure that the vial is properly positioned. The underside of the vial holder may be relieved to increase flexibility to make it easier to snap the vial into place.

A tool holder having three panels, the panels being foldable relative to each other from a flat position to an assembled position, one of the panels having openings therein, the one panel is foldable relative to the other panel to assume a position at an angle to the other panel. The three panels consist of an upper panel, a central panel and a lower panel and the openings are in the lower panel. A tool may be placed in the openings in the panel.

Tool holder

A utility knife having a body portion with a mouth at its front end. A finger piece is provided for moving the blade forward so that it extends from the body portion through the mouth. A spring is provided to retract a blade to a position within the body portion when the finger piece is released. An open hook is provided to stop the forward movement of the blade. The open hook is part of the finger piece and is located rearwardly of the finger piece. The hook strikes a portion of body portion to stop the forward movement of the blade.

Utility knife

A scraper having a body portion with a front edge and a cover portion slidable relative to the body portion. The blade is received in the body portion with its cutting edge extending beyond the front edge of the body portion. The cover portion is movable relative to the body portion from a retracted position exposing the blade cutting edge to an extended position overlying the blade cutting edge. The cover portion is held in its retracted and/or its extended positions by locking mechanisms on the cover portion and on the body portion which cooperate with each other to hold the cover in its retracted and/or extended positions.

Scraper

A post level having two spaced holders fixed to two plate-like body members with a notch between the holders. A floor member is integrally attached to the body members. Each holder provides a channel that receives the end of a level vial. One of the holders has a stop to engage an end of the vial. The other holder has a detent fixed thereto that urges and resiliently engages a second end of the vial to hold the vial in position in the holder.

A rotatable rigid material valve operator is provided having a threaded shank threadedly engaged within a threaded blind bore formed in a valve member constructed of thermo plastic elastomer having an 80-90 'SHORE' scale durometer hardness and snugly slidingly disposed within a valve body bore against rotation relative thereto, the threaded shank being rotatable relative to the valve body against axial displacement relative thereto such that rotation of the threaded shank translates into axial shifting of the valve member within the valve body bore. The compressive resiliency and thickness of the walls of the valve member defining the blind bore are such that the threaded connection between the shank and the threaded blind bore may 'slip' independent of 'stripping' of the threaded connection between the threaded shank and the valve body threaded blind bore when the valve member is in a limit of axial shifting thereof and the threaded shank is inadvertently further rotated, thereby retaining the threaded connection between the threaded shank and the valve member threaded blind bore for subsequent axial adjustment of the valve member by its threaded connection with the threaded shank.

Slip thread adjustable in-line valve for sterile fluids

A toothbrush holder for training the bristles of a toothbrush into a preferred shape utilizes a pair of opposed cam surfaces to urge a pair of rigid compression members against the sides of the mass of bristles along a line at a predetermined height on the bristles. The resultant bristle structure is maintained by repeated storage of the brush in the holder between use.
