The invention relates to a connector () for data connections, in particular of the RJ type, with a latch element () for securing a connection to a counter-connector. In order to simplify a disconnection of the connector () and the counter-connector, even when the connection is secured by the latch connection, the invention provides that the connector () is provided with a gripping end (') that is adapted to transfer the latch element () from its latch position (L) and to disconnect the connector () from the counter-connector by a single movement.

A contact sub-assembly is provided for an electrical connector. The contact sub-assembly includes a base and an array of contacts held by the base. Each contact extends along a length from a terminating end portion to a tip end portion. The tip end portion includes a tip surface. Each contact has a mating interface located along the length of the contact between the terminating end portion and the tip end portion. The contact sub-assembly also includes a spacing member formed separately from the base. The spacing member engages each of the contacts such that each contact is positioned relative to each adjacent contact in the array. At least a portion of the spacing member engaging each contact at a location along the length of the contact that is between the mating interface and the tip surface.

A cassette includes a housing having a plurality of plug cavities configure to receive plugs therein, and a contact subassembly received in the housing. The contact subassembly has a circuit board and a plurality of contacts coupled to the circuit board, with the contacts being arranged in contact sets that are received in different plug cavities to mate with different ones of the plugs. The cassette also includes a connectivity sensor coupled to the housing. The connectivity sensor is electrically connected to the circuit board of the contact subassembly, and the connectivity sensor has a plurality of sensor pads configured to interface with sensor probes of the plugs when the plugs are loaded into the plug cavities.

Cassette for use within a connectivity management system

An electrical connector including an array of conductors having at least one differential pair of conductors that extends between a mating end and a loading end of a housing. The conductors are configured to engage a selected mating contact of a mating connector at a mating interface. The electrical connector also includes a plurality of traces that extend between the mating and loading ends. Each trace is electrically connected to a corresponding conductor proximate to the mating end and/or the loading end. Also, the electrical connector includes a first interconnection, path formed by the conductors that extends from the mating interface to the loading end and a second interconnection path formed by the traces that extends from the mating interface to the loading end. The differential pair transmits current that is split, between the first and second interconnection paths where at least one interconnection path provides compensation.

A cassette includes a housing having a front and a rear. The housing has a plurality of plug cavities open at the front for receiving plugs therein, and the housing has a rear chamber open to the plug cavities. The cassette also includes a contact subassembly having a circuit board and a plurality of contacts arranged in contact sets coupled to the circuit board. Each contact set is configured to mate with a corresponding plug, where the contact subassembly is loaded into the rear chamber such that the contact sets are received in different corresponding plug cavities. The circuit board is oriented generally parallel to the front of the housing when the contact subassembly is loaded into the rear chamber.

Cassette for a cable interconnect system

A terminal block for electrically coupling conductors and terminal contacts. The terminal block includes a terminal base portion that has a mounting side configured to be mounted to a surface of an electrical component. The base portion has contact slots that extend from the mounting side therethrough. The contact slots are configured to receive terminal contacts that are electrically coupled to the electrical component. The terminal block also includes an organizer portion that extends from the base portion and includes channels that extend substantially parallel to the surface of the electrical component. The channels are configured to receive corresponding conductors. The contact slots of the base portion align with corresponding channels of the organizer portion so that the terminal contacts electrically couple the conductors.

A cassette includes a housing having a plurality of plug cavities that are separated from adjacent plug cavities by shield elements. The cassette also includes a contact subassembly having a circuit board and a plurality of contacts arranged in contact sets coupled to the circuit board. The contact sets are configured to mate with different plugs. The contact subassembly is loaded into the housing such that the contact sets are received in different plug cavities, wherein the contact sets are separated from adjacent contact sets by the shield elements.

An interface module includes a housing configured to hold at least one modular jack. The housing is configured to be mounted on a panel. The housing includes an electrically conductive portion. An electrically conductive fastener has a housing interface configured to engage the electrically conductive portion of the housing and a panel interface configured to engage an electrically conductive surface of the panel. The electrically conductive fastener creates an electrical connection between the housing and the panel.

Interface module

An electrical connector includes a housing and a plurality of electrical mating contacts held within the housing. Each of the mating contacts extends from a first end portion to a second end portion. Each of the mating contacts has an intermediate portion extending between the first and second end portions. An electrical compensation component is held within the housing. The electrical compensation component includes a circuit board. The electrical compensation component is electrically connected to at least one of the mating contacts at a location along the intermediate portion that is spaced a distance from the first and second end portions.

An electrical connector includes a housing and a plurality of contacts within the housing that are configured to engage with mating contacts of a mating connector. The contacts form at least a first differential pair and a second differential pair. The electrical connector also includes a circuit board housed within the housing. The circuit board has a substrate body formed from a dielectric material and includes a first trace electrically coupled to a contact of the first differential pair and a second trace electrically coupled to a contact of the second differential pair. At least one of the first and second traces is an open-ended trace. The circuit board also has a non-ohmic plate that is positioned adjacent to the traces. The plate is positioned to electromagnetically couple the first and second traces to each other and the non-ohmic plate and traces are configured for a desired electrical performance.

A electrical connector includes a housing and a plurality of contacts within the housing configured for mating engagement with mating contacts of a mating connector. The electrical connector also includes a compensation component housed within the housing. The compensation component has a substrate with a first trace plane and a second trace plane, and the compensation component has a plurality of traces arranged on the first trace plane. The traces are electrically connected to selected ones of the contacts. At least one of the traces includes a compensation loop arranged on the first trace plane, and at least one of the traces includes a compensation loop arranged on the second trace plane. The compensation loop provides at least one of electrical and thermal compensation.

An electrical connector includes a back end sub-assembly including a back end housing extending along a longitudinal axis between a forward side and a rearward side. The back end housing defining a plurality of contact zones. At least one contact is held in each of the plurality of contact zones. A shield is provided within each of the plurality of contact zones with each shield at least partially surrounding at least one contact in the corresponding contact zone. Each shield is non-common with and does not electrically engage any other shield in the back end housing.

Electrical connector with enhanced back end design

A network sensing assembly is provided that includes an interface configured to receive a plurality of patch cords and a sensor element positioned proximate the interface. A plurality of contacts establish electrical connection to the sensor element when the patch cords are connected to the interface. At least one conductive element is attached to one of the patch cords and the sensor element. The conductive element is configured to couple more than one of the plurality of contacts when one of the patch cords is connected to the interface.
