An information handling system creates a secure virtual abstraction layer for a data transaction of a peripheral device and creates a virtual node as a passthrough of the secure virtual abstraction layer for the data transaction. The information handling system also remaps an address space of the peripheral device to a pseudo driver space for the data transaction.

Peripheral device data protection

An information handling system includes a memory device and a BIOS. The BIOS executes a plurality of processes to boot the information handling system. Each process has a unique identifier (ID). When the BIOS executes a first process, the BIOS calculates a first hash value of a first ID of the first process and stores the first hash value to the memory device. Each time the BIOS executes a second process, the BIOS calculates a second hash value of the path hash value and a second ID of the second process and stores the second hash value to the memory device. After the boot of the information handling system is completed, the path hash value identifies a boot path of the processes for the boot of the information handling system. The BIOS further determines whether the boot path is a secure boot path based upon the path hash value.

Utilizing a hash of a boot path as indication of a secure boot flow

An information handling system includes a flash memory having a basic input/output system (BIOS) firmware image having a modular file structure and a segment offset table that identifies offsets of a first set of modules including the firmware image. The system collects a second set of modules from a BIOS firmware update payload and maps the second set of modules to the first set of modules in the flash memory. The system also updates the BIOS firmware image with the second set of modules based on the offsets in the segment offset table.

Modern scalable flash firmware architecture

An information handling system includes a memory device and a BIOS. The memory device includes a location to store a path hash value. The BIOS executes a plurality of processes to boot the information handling system. Each process has a unique identifier (ID). When the BIOS executes a first process, the BIOS calculates a first hash value of a first ID of the first process and stores the first hash value in the location. Each time the BIOS executes a second process, the BIOS calculates a second hash value of the path hash value and a second ID of the second process and stores the second hash value in the location.

A method, storage control system and information handling system (IHS) provides copying of a first directory containing a first plurality of files from a client to a target server. The method includes receiving, via a first processor of the client, a request to copy the first directory containing the first plurality of files from a first storage device to the target server. The first directory is parsed into a first i-node tree. Metadata corresponding to the first i-node tree is generated and transmit from the client to the target server. A second processor at the target server is triggered to generate a second directory based on the metadata corresponding to the first i-node tree. The first plurality of files contained in the first directory from the first storage device is transmitted to the target server.

System and method for copying directory structures

A method, storage control system and information handling system (IHS) enables efficient copying of a first directory containing a first plurality of files from a client to a target server. The method includes receiving, via a first processor of the client, a request to copy the first directory containing the first plurality of files from a first storage device to the target server. The first directory is parsed into a first i-node tree. Metadata corresponding to the first i-node tree is generated and transmit from the client to the target server. A second processor at the target server is triggered to generate a second directory based on the metadata corresponding to the first i-node tree. The first plurality of files contained in the first directory from the first storage device is transmitted to the target server.
