A synergistic microbicidal composition containing 2-(decylthio)ethanamine or its hydrochloride salt and 2,2-dibromomalonamide in a weight ratio from 64/1 to 1/16.

Microbicidal composition

Provided are biocidal compositions comprising: a hydroxymethyl-substituted phosphorus compound and 2-(decylthio)ethanamine compound. The compositions are useful for controlling microorganisms in aqueous or water-containing systems.

Biocidal compositions and methods of use

Provided are additives of formula I for use in hydrocarbonaceous compositions, such as petroleum or liquid fuels: (I) wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5 are as defined herein. The additives improve the corrosion resistance of the compositions. The additives also enhance the antimicrobial efficacy of any added biocides contained in such compositions. 

Corrosion and microbial control in hydrocarbonaceous compositions

Wallboard and facing paper that provides increased mold resistance at lower biocide loadings. The biocide is: (a) an n-alkyl isothiazolinone such as octylisothiazolinone (OIT), a monohalo and dihalo substituted n-alkylisothiazolinone such as chloromethylisothiazolinone (CMIT) or dichlorooctylisothiazolinone (DCOIT), 3-iodo-2-propynyl-butylcarbamate (IPBC), chlorothalonil, methylene-bis-thiocyanate, or mixtures of two or more thereof; or (b) carbendazim and a second biocide selected from 3-iodo-2-propynyl-butylcarbamate (IPBC), diiodomethyltolylsulfone (DIMTS), sodium pyrithione, octylisothiazolinone (OIT), dichlorooctylisothiazolinone (DCOIT), and chlorothalonil.

A thermally stable brominated butadiene copolymer, such as brominated styrene/butadiene block copolymer, brominated random styrene/butadiene copolymer or brominated styrene/butadiene graft copolymer, preparation of the brominated butadiene copolymers, use of the brominated butadiene copolymers as a flame retardant additive and polymeric compositions, both foamed and non-foamed, that incorporate a flame-retarding amount of brominated butadiene copolymer.

The present invention is a process for preparing a branched polymer from a vinyl aromatic monomer comprising, copolymerizing the vinyl aromatic monomer with a monomer pair, wherein the monomer pair consists of two different monomers containing functionalities which are substantially nonreactive with each other under the conditions of copolymerization, and heating the copolymer produced to a temperature such that the functionalities react with each other to form branches within the polymer.
