A wireless communication device obtains configuration information defining multiple geographical areas. Further, the wireless communication device sends an outgoing D2D transmission. The outgoing D2D transmission comprises an area identifier to identify one of the geographical areas as target geographical area of the outgoing D2D transmission and to address the outgoing D2D transmission to one or more wireless communication devices in the identified target geographical area of the outgoing D2D transmission.

The present invention relates to a method, wireless device and network node for supporting efficient, fast dynamic adaptation of radio links that allow for direct communication between wireless devices. It is desired to reduce signalling overhead and computations. Network architecture, methods, and devices for a wireless communications network

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for sidelink measurement reporting. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless device for reporting sidelink measurements comprises obtaining a configuration of a plurality of threshold conditions for triggering an aperiodic sidelink measurement report and detecting one of the plurality of threshold conditions for triggering an aperiodic sidelink measurement report. The method further comprises, in response to detecting the one of the plurality of threshold conditions for triggering an aperiodic sidelink measurement report, sending an aperiodic sidelink measurement report. In this manner, more accurate path loss or channel busy ratio (CBR) estimation in sidelink communication is enabled, thereby improve sidelink power control performance, resource allocation performance, and hence the overall sidelink communication performance.

Sidelink measurements report

A D2D communication device sends a synchronization signal to enable synchronization of one or more other D2D communication devices. The D2D communication device provides the synchronization signal with an indication that the synchronization signal is derived from a D2D communication device configured as a synchronization master which, when not being synchronized to an external synchronization reference, has a higher priority to be used as a synchronization source than other D2D communication devices not synchronized to an external synchronization reference.

A method of operating a user equipment, UE, for device-to-device, D2D, transmission of a channel state information, CSI, report and/or a CSI reference signal, CSI-RS, is provided. The method may include identifying a CSI selection window containing candidate resources for use in D2D transmission of the CSI report and/or CSI-RS. The method may include identifying a data selection window containing candidate resources for use in D2D transmission of data and which at least partially overlaps a region of the CSI selection window. Methods of resource selection for sidelink multi-stream transmission in wireless communications systems and related apparatuses

Power control for a bidirectional Sidelink (SL) is provided. Solutions proposed herein limit the Physical SL Feedback Channel (PSFCH) transmit power level to that of the power level used for Physical SL Shared Channel (PSSCH) so as to prohibit too high transmit power for the PSFCH. In addition, if the difference between the PSSCH and PSFCH exceeds a preconfigured threshold (e.g., the PSFCH is too low), a Receiver (Rx) User Equipment (UE) can take preventive actions that ensure sufficient quality over the PSFCH. In further embodiments, both UEs continuously maintain the estimated SL Path Loss (PL) and transmit a single SL Channel State Information Reference Signal (SCSI-RS), and associated measurement reports rather than triggering new SCSI-RS transmissions and measurement reports for each PSSCH and associated PSFCH channel per SL (e.g., PC5) connection.

Power control for bidirectional sidelink

Methods, computer programs and receiving wireless devices for operating a receiving wireless device associated with a group are provided, wherein the group includes the receiving wireless device and a transmitting wireless device. The method includes receiving a groupcast data packet from the transmitting wireless device of the group. The method further includes determining a distance of the receiving wireless device from the transmitting wireless device. The method further includes selecting a communication resource for one of an Acknowledgement, ACK, message or Negative Acknowledgement, NACK, message for the groupcast data packet, wherein the communication resource is selected based on the distance from the transmitting wireless device. The method further includes transmitting the one of the ACK message or NACK message for the groupcast data packet using the communication resource selected based on the distance from the transmitting wireless device.

Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for platoon-based communications. The method which may be performed by a first network node comprises determining, at a radio layer, a group header of a device group which comprises at least a terminal device. The group header comprises at least one of: an application layer group header being responsible for management of the device group at an application layer, and a radio layer group header being responsible for management of the device group at the radio layer. According to the embodiments of the present disclosure, a radio layer group header may be appointed for a device group so that communication management on the device group can be performed at the radio level.

Method and apparatus for platoon-based communications

A wireless device, network node and methods using new radio time division duplex, NR-TDD, are provided. A method is disclosed for operating a user equipment (UE) for device-to-device (D2D) communications. The method includes receiving booking information from another UE. The booking information identifying a resource that the other UE is booking to use for transmission by the other UE and further including priority information. The method further includes selectively transmitting preemption signaling based on whether the received priority information indicates lower priority than local priority information that is associated with a transmission to be scheduled by the UE. The preemption signaling indicates preemption of the UE to use the resource identified by the booking information. The method further includes scheduling the UE to transmit using the resource identified by the booking information.
