An adjustable height backsplash for an appliance such as a cooking range is disclosed. The backsplash includes an upper wall mount mountable to a wall; a lower wall mount mountable to the wall at a selectable distance from the upper wall mount; an upper faceplate mountable to the upper wall mount and including an upper front panel; and a lower faceplate mountable to the lower wall mount and including a lower front panel. After installation, the upper front panel and the lower front panel together substantially cover a continuous portion of the wall.

Backsplash for an appliance

An apparatus for controlling odor within a refrigeration appliance is provided. The apparatus includes a frame removably positioned within an airflow path configured to supply cooled air to a food storage compartment of the refrigeration appliance. The frame defines a chamber. A filter medium is positioned within the chamber. The filter medium is configured to filter air channeled therethrough and remove odorous molecules.

Apparatus and method for controlling odor within an appliance

A dual evaporator refrigerator includes a freezer compartment and a refrigeration compartment with an enclosed pan. A freezer evaporator with a freezer fan is in the freezer compartment for cooling the freezer compartment and a refrigeration evaporator with a first refrigeration fan is in the refrigeration compartment for cooling the refrigeration compartment. A compressor provides refrigerant flow to the freezer and the refrigeration evaporators. A second refrigeration fan moves air from the refrigeration evaporator to the enclosed pan.

Refrigerator with select temperature compartment

A storage assembly for a refrigerator having a freezer storage compartment includes a second storage compartment positioned within the freezer storage compartment, and a cooling plate positioned within the second storage compartment. The cooling plate is configured to support a food item and transfer thermal energy between the food item and the cooling plate through conduction. The storage assembly also includes a fan positioned at a first end of the second storage compartment. The fan is configured to draw cool air into the second storage compartment and direct the cool air across the food item.

Freezer storage assembly for a refrigerator

System and method for preserving food. Embodiments of the system include a food compartment to store food and a user interface configured to receive user input relating to the preservation of the food stored. The system also includes a humidity sensor configured to sense a humidity level, an ozone generator configured to generate ozone gas, an ozone sensor configured to sense an ozone level and a gas sensor configured to sense a level of residual gases inside the food compartment. The system further includes a controller, responsive to the user interface, the humidity sensor, the ozone sensor and the gas sensor. In one embodiment, the controller preserves the food stored in the food compartment as a function of the user input, the humidity level, the ozone level, the residual gas level and as a function of a type of the food stored in the food compartment.

System and method for preserving food

A shelf assembly is provided. The shelf assembly includes a plate having a shaft flange extending substantially perpendicular therefrom, and a shaft mounted to the shaft flange. The shaft extends from the shaft flange along a first axis. The shelf assembly further includes a shelf slidably mounted to the shaft such that the shelf is movable on the shaft along the first axis.
