Radar systems and methods for imaging concealed surfaces. A processor receives raw data from the radar and executes an image data generation. A display unit displays an image representing the concealed surface. The radar unit may be incorporated in a handheld scanner, a walkthough scanner, an underfoot scanner, an overhead scanner or the like. Dimensions of the scanning unit may be selected to enable a full body scan of a subject.

Systems and methods for monitoring life signs in a subject. A radar unit comprising generates raw data and a processor unit receives raw data and identifies oscillating signals in a series of arrays of complex values representing radiation reflected from each voxel of a target region during a given time segment. A phase value is determined for each voxel in each frame and a waveform representing phase changes over time for each voxel is generated. Voxels indicating an oscillating signal are selected and life sign parameters are extracted.

Systems and methods for remotely tracking life signs with a millimeter-wave radar

Systems and methods for performing body scans to ascertain body measurements of a subject. A radar based scanner may be used to generate a three dimensional image of a subject as a point cloud map of electromagnetic radiation reflected from a target region. The point cloud may be mapped to a parametric model of a standard human shape. The mapping may be optimized by adjusting parameters of the parametric model. The resulting parameters of the optimized model may be used to indicate the body measurements of the scanned subject.

The method may include the following steps: attaching successively pairs of a plurality of probe antennas to each other; performing an initial measurement of a multiport formed by the ports of said pair of probe antennas, the initial measurement yielding initial coefficients of said probe antennas; attaching successively one of said probe antennas to one of the antennas in said antenna array; performing a second measurement of multiports formed by the ports of said probe antennas and said antenna array, the second measurement yielding coefficients of the combination of said antenna array and said probe antennas; and using the initial coefficients and the second measurement coefficients to calibrate said antenna array.
