A flow sensor sub-assembly for sensing flow of a fluidic medicament is disclosed. The flow sensor sub-assembly includes a first spring contact and a second spring contact. The spring contacts are secured to a base that has a circuit for conducting an electrical signal to and from the spring contacts to a microprocessor. The first spring contact is in electrical communication with a first piezo element and the second spring contact is in electrical communication with a second piezo element. The first spring contact has a first contact force against the first piezo element and the second spring contact has a second contact force against the second piezo element, and the first and second contact forces are equivalent. A circuit board for interfacing to a flow sensor having a plurality of piezo elements for transmitting a flow signal indicative of flow of fluidic medicament is also disclosed.

A method for readying a fluid sensor associated with a medical device includes attaching a flow restrictor to a fluid outlet of the fluid sensor. The fluid sensor includes a fluid channel, a fluid inlet at a first end of the fluid channel configured to couple to an outlet of an administrable fluid source, and the fluid outlet at a second end of the fluid channel. Fluid is delivered from the administrable fluid source to the fluid channel through the fluid inlet. A syringe actuation device including a force limiting device may be used to deliver the fluid. The fluid is pressurized in the fluid channel between the fluid inlet and the flow restrictor to wet an interior surface of the fluid channel with the fluid. The flow restrictor is removed from the fluid outlet.

A flow sensor sub-assembly for sensing flow of a fluidic medicament including a flow tube assembly through which said medicament flows, the flow tube assembly having: a flow tube having a lumen; an inlet fitting; and an outlet fitting; a first transducer arranged at the inlet fitting; and a second transducer arranged at the outlet fitting, wherein a transducer adhesive bonds said first transducer to the inlet fitting and said second transducer to the outlet fitting, and wherein the transducer adhesive dampens at least one of out of phase vibrations and rogue vibrations induced in the inlet and outlet fittings by transmission of sound energy between the first and second transducers and the inlet and outlet fittings.

A medication delivery apparatus for use with a medication container includes a housing, a fluid conduit at least partially extending within the housing and configured to deliver medication within the medication container to a patient, a medication port extending from the housing and configured to be coupled to a fluid outlet of the medication container, the medication port being fluidically coupled to the fluid conduit, and at least one sensor disposed within the housing to generate information characterizing administration of the medication for processing by a remote data collection system. The housing can have a size and shape that enables it to be supported by a first hand of a user while the user administers the medication from the medication container via the medication port using a second hand of the user. A flow sensor sub-assembly for sensing flow of a fluidic medicament includes a flow tube having a flow tube inlet and a flow tube outlet, and an acoustical transmission rate. The medicament flows through the flow tube. A first piezo element is arranged at an upstream position of the flow tube and a second piezo element is arranged at a downstream position of the flow tube, such that the first piezo element and the second piezo element are mounted apart a pre-selected distance from each other. An absorber sheath encircles the flow tube. The absorber sheath has an upstream end and a downstream end. The absorber sheath is comprised of a material with an acoustical transmission rate different than the flow tube.

A flow sensor sub-assembly includes a flow tube having a lumen, an outside diameter, a first end, and a second end. An inlet fitting includes a conical orifice sized for insertion in either end of the flow tube, such that an internal passage of the inlet fitting is coaxial and concentric with the lumen and the end of the flow tube abuts a shoulder. An outlet fitting includes a conical orifice sized for insertion in either end of the flow tube, such that an internal passage of the inlet fitting is coaxial and concentric with the lumen and the end of the flow tube abuts a shoulder. A first piezo element integrated with the inlet fitting is arranged at an upstream position of the flow tube assembly and a second piezo element integrated with the outlet fitting is arranged at a downstream position of the flow tube assembly.

Roller clamps are described herein. A roller clamp includes a housing, a roller wheel, and a locking device. The housing includes a first wall and a second wall, wherein the first wall and the second wall are spaced apart to define a longitudinal channel therebetween, the housing including an upper opening and a lower opening configured to allow a tubing to pass through the longitudinal channel. The roller wheel is disposed at least partially within the longitudinal channel and configured to engage the tubing, the roller wheel including a plurality of teeth extending from an outer surface of the roller wheel, wherein a longitudinal position of the roller wheel relative to the channel adjusts a flow rate through the tubing. The locking device is releasably engaged to the housing and the roller wheel, wherein the locking device prevents movement of the roller wheel from the longitudinal position.
