The present invention is related to adhesive compositions comprising about 50 to about 80 wt % of a polymer blend of at least two different propylene-based polymers, wherein the polymer blend has a melt viscosity of about 100 to about 6,000 cP and adhesive compositions comprising about 30 to about 60 wt % of a polymer blend of at least two different propylene-based polymers, wherein the polymer blend has a melt viscosity of about 6,000 cP to about 60,000 cP. When subjected to Temperature Rising Elution Fractionation, the polymer blend exhibits a first fraction that is soluble at &#x2212;15&#xb0; C. in xylene, the first fraction having an isotactic (mm) triad tacticity of about 70 mol % to about 90 mol %; and a second fraction that is insoluble or less soluble than the first fraction at &#x2212;15&#xb0; C. in xylene, the second fraction having an isotactic (mm) triad tacticity of about 85 mol % to about 98 mol %.

High polymer load polyolefin adhesive compositions

To obtain an elastomeric composite crumb having a majority of the particle size distribution greater than 0.33 cm, the crumb is obtained by a process whereby the elastomeric composite comprises less than about 0.5 phr of a salt of a Cto Ccarboxylic acid, or 10 to 20 phr of a tackifying resin or a combination of both an absence of carboxylic acid and the presence of the tackifying resin. The use of one or both methods permits control of crumb particle size distribution in emulsion or solution processes for producing elastomeric nanocomposites. The elastomeric composite is also disclosed.

The present invention is related to an adhesive composition, wherein the adhesive composition comprises a polymer blend comprising a first propylene-based polymer, wherein the first propylene-based polymer is a homopolymer of propylene or a copolymer of propylene and ethylene or a Cto Calpha-olefin, and a second propylene-based polymer, wherein the second propylene-based polymer is a homopolymer of propylene or a copolymer of propylene and ethylene or a Cto Calpha-olefin; wherein the second propylene-based polymer is different than the first propylene-based polymer, and wherein the polymer blend has a melt viscosity, measured at 190&#xb0; C. and determined according to ASTM D-3236, of about 1,000 cP to about 10,000 cP; and one or more tackifiers.

Adhesive compositions made from propylene-based polymers for elastic attachments

A multi-modal polymer blend for use in an adhesive composition comprising at least two compositionally different propylene-based polymers. The multi-modal polymer blend has a Mw of about 10,000 g/mol to about 150,000 g/mol. When subjected to Temperature Rising Elution Fractionation, the multi-modal polymer blend exhibits a first fraction that is soluble at &#x2212;15&#xb0; C. in a hydrocarbon solvent, such as xylene or ortho-dichlorobenzene, the first fraction having an isotactic (mm) triad tacticity of about 70 mol % to about 90 mol %; and a second fraction that is insoluble or less soluble than the first fraction at &#x2212;15&#xb0; C. in the hydrocarbon solvent, the second fraction having an isotactic (mm) triad tacticity of about 85 mol % to about 98 mol %.

Polyolefin adhesive compositions

Provided are elastomeric compositions comprising at least one elastomer and a hydrocarbon polymer additive. Preferably the hydrocarbon polymer additive comprises from 60 to 90% piperylene, from 5 to 15% cyclic components, from 5 to 20% styrenic components, up to 5% isoprene, up to 5% indenic components, and up to 10% amylene. Also provided are elastomeric compositions comprising at least one elastomer and a hydrocarbon polymer additive, wherein the hydrocarbon polymer additive has a molecular weight of from 520 to 650 g/mole and a glass transition temperature (Tg) of from 48 to 53&#xb0; C. The elastomeric compositions are particularly useful in making tires and other cured rubber articles.
