A method includes using a first trained artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) model to identify occupied frequency channels associated with one or more incoming signals during multiple time periods, where the one or more incoming signals include a frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) signal. The method also includes generating one or more baseband signals using portions of the one or more incoming signals associated with the occupied frequency channels. The method further includes using a second trained AI/ML model to recover data from the one or more baseband signals, where the recovered data represents at least a portion of data that is encoded in the FHSS signal.

Methods and apparatus for phased-based pre-carrier signal detection in a communication system are described. In embodiments, inphase and quadrature (IQ) data is generated from a received signal. A current phase delta value is determined from the IQ data and combined with existing phase delta value, such as an averaged phase delta value, which is compared with a threshold value to determine if a pre-carrier signal in the received signal has ended.

Phase-based pre-carrier detection

In a geolocation system, ancillary parameter values, i.e., those produced during the geolocation process but not directly related to the calculation of the geolocation, are recorded and stored. These 'ancillary' parameter values include signal characterization data and secondary measurements produced in the calculation of the geolocation. These parameter values are processed, in one approach, with respect to a weighted matrix in order to determine a confidence or fidelity value of the determined geolocation. Confidence is an indication of the likelihood that the geolocation result produced is in fact the desired target and that the identified location has a reasonable degree of quality so as to be practical or accurate.
