Methods for enhancing the growth and/or yield of plants, such as corn and wheat, through the application of one or more phosphate-solubilizing microorganisms and one or more lipo-chitooligosaccharides and/or chitooligosaccharides to plant seeds prior to planting.

Use of phosphate-solubilizing microorganisms and lipo-chitooligosaccharides for enhancing plant growth

Disclosed are methods of enhancing plant growth, comprising a) treating plant seed with an effective amount of at least one phosphate solubilizing microorganism that may include a strain of the fungus, and b) treating the seed or plant that germinates from the seed with an effective amount of at least one lipo chitooligosaccharide (LCO) and/or at least one chitoogliosaccharide (CO), wherein upon harvesting the plant exhibits at least one of increased plant yield measured in terms of bushels/acre, increased root number, increased root length, increased root mass, increased root volume and increased leaf area, compared to untreated plants or plants harvested from untreated seed.

Use of lipo-chitooligosaccharides and/or chitooligosaccharides in combination with phosphate-solubilizing microorganisms to enhance plant growth

Disclosed are compositions for enhancing plant growth, comprising at least one lipo-chitooligosaccharide (LCO) compound; and at least one agriculturally beneficial agent selected from the group consisting at least one pesticide, at least one beneficial microorganism, and combinations thereof. Methods for enhancing plant growth and treating seeds with the compositions provided herein are also disclosed.

Lipo-chitooligosaccharide compositions for enhancing plant growth

According to the present invention new isolates of bacterial strains have been shown to possess unique properties. These bacterial strains are plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium (PGPR), posses an enhanced competitive advantage at colonizing leguminous plants, and enhance the overall performance of leguminous plant growth. Further still, the present invention discloses a novel method for screening and selecting bacterial strains having the aforementioned beneficial characteristics.

According to the present invention new isolates ofhave been isolated and possess unique properties. Theseare plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium (PGPR), possess superior tolerance/resistance to desiccation, and enhance the overall performance of leguminous plant growth.

The present disclosure relates to a strain ofbacteria that hyperproduces amylase enzyme and protease enzyme. The strain is also suitable for producing lipase for the degradation of oleaginous materials such as fats, greases and cooking oils. The strain also has excellent fungicidal and/or fungistatic qualities. The strain of the present disclosure and the enzymes produced thereby have a number of applications, including agricultural uses, laundry and dish detergents, drain cleaners and spot removers, and among other things, baking applications.
