A friction reducer includes a polysaccharide-graft-water-soluble polymer is provided. A polysaccharide in an amount of from about 0.1 to 50% by weight (wt. %) may make up the polysaccharide-graft-water-soluble polymer. A wellbore treatment fluid is provided that includes an aqueous base fluid and the friction reducer in an amount up to about 10% of the wellbore treatment fluid. A method of using a wellbore treatment fluid includes the step of introducing the wellbore treatment fluid as previously provided into a wellbore.

High viscosity friction reducer for fracturing fluid

The present disclosure describes methods and systems, including computer-implemented methods, computer program products, and computer systems, for determining a mudweight of drilling fluids in a hydrocarbon reservoir. One computer-implemented method includes: receiving pore pressure data of a rock formation in the hydrocarbon reservoir; determining permeability data of fractures of the hydrocarbon reservoir; determining Hoek-Brown failure criterion data; and determining a safe mudweight window based on the pore pressure data of the rock formation, the permeability data of the fractures, and the Hoek-Brown failure criterion data.

Determining a mudweight of drilling fluids for drilling through naturally fractured formations

A method of treating a medium for water fracturing is disclosed, the method comprises: introducing at least one biocide and at least one metabolic inhibitor in the medium, using the medium for water fracturing. In another aspect a method of controlling the post-fracture reservoir souring by the metabolic activities of sulfate reducing bacteria of a well is described: at least one biocide and at least one metabolic inhibitor are introduced in a medium made of water, the medium is used for fracturing the well, and the medium remains in the reservoir to kill and/or inhibit growth of sulfate reducing bacteria.

Method for treating fracturing water

A method of installing a sand control screen assembly in a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation is carried out in a wellbore having a cased section and an uncased section. The wellbore contains synthetic or oil-based drilling fluids containing drilled solids. A first water-based displacement fluid that contains a shale inhibitor is introduced into the wellbore to displace the synthetic or oil-based drilling fluids from the uncased section of the wellbore. A second water-based displacement fluid is introduced into the wellbore to displace fluids within the cased section of the wellbore. The sand control screen assembly is then run to a selected depth within the uncased section of the wellbore to facilitate a gravel packing operation.

Method of installing sand control screens in wellbores containing synthetic or oil-based drilling fluids

The invention provides an environmentally friendly composition including a friction reducer, a biocide, a scale inhibitor, and optionally a clay stabilizer.

Composition and method for slickwater application

A method for removing preexisting filtercake from a portion of a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore is carried out by providing water-degradable particles formed from a solid polymeric acid precursor material that is capable of a degrading to acid for reacting with materials of the filtercake. A slurry is formed from the particles with a carrier fluid. The slurry of particles is introduced into the formation through the wellbore and allowed to degrade to form acid, whereby the formed acid facilitates decomposition of preexisting filtercake material. In certain applications, the water-degradable particles may also be used in combination with non-water-degradable particles, which may be used for forming a gravel pack. The water-degradable particles may also be used to reduce fluid loss temporarily to areas of the formation immediately surrounding the wellbore.
