The method further including generating, using an electronic processor and based on the rate profile, a charging profile. Automated electric vehicle charging

A lighting fixture is provided. The lighting fixture includes a light source. The lighting fixture further includes an input device physically located on the lighting fixture. The input device is configured to receive a manual user-input associated with toggling power to the light source. The lighting fixture further includes a wireless communications device physically located on the lighting fixture. The wireless communications device includes an antenna and one or more control devices. The one or more control devices are configured to obtain, via the antenna, data indicative of a user-request to toggle power to the light source. The one or more control devices are further configured to provide one or more control signals associated with toggling power to the light source based, at least in part, on the data and irrespective of a state of the input device physically located on the lighting fixture.

Lighting fixture for hospitality applications

An apparatus and method for sensing body temperature and wirelessly communicating measured data to at least one electronic device. The device includes a sensor device having a housing base, a housing cover releasably mountable on the housing base, and components for sensing body temperature and wirelessly communicating the measured temperature, including a temperature sensor, a power supply, a microprocessor, and a transmitter and receiver. The electronic device can include an application that communicates with the sensor device and provides a user interface.

A method for providing a notification associated with at least one of a plurality of connected devices is provided. The method includes obtaining, by one or more computing devices, data from one or more connected devices. The method further includes determining, by the one or more computing devices, occurrence of an event based, at least in part, on the data obtained from the one or more connected devices. In addition, the method includes accessing, by the one or more computing devices, a multi-tier notification tree. Apparatus and method for automated electric vehicle charging. One embodiment provides a method for automated charging. The method includes storing, in a memory, a rate profile of a power grid, the rate profile including at least one time period and at least one rate associated with the at least one time period. The method further includes generating, using the electronic processor and based on the rate profile, a charging profile, and charging, using a charging controller of a charger coupled to the electronic processor, based on the charging profile.

Voice responsive in-wall devices are provided. In one example implementation, a power switch includes a housing mountable on or at least partially within a surface. The housing can have a front panel. The power switch can include an interface element disposed on the front panel and operable to receive a user input. The power switch can include a power interrupter operable to control power delivery to the powered load based at least in part on interaction with the interface element. The power switch can include one or more microphones operable to obtain audio input. The power switch can include one or more speakers configured to provide audio output. The power switch can include a communications interface operable to communicate data associated with the audio input over a communication link.

Voice responsive in-wall device

The invention disclosed herein concerns a privacy enhancing device for use with IP cameras and related methods. The privacy device includes an adjustable light filter and is configured to be placed over the lens of an IP camera such that the image captured by the IP camera passes through the filter. The transparency of the light filter is controlled using a control module in response to user inputs received using an on-board user interface so as to provide varying levels of privacy ranging from an opaque state and a transparent state. Inputs that serve to facilitate and enhance operation of the device can also be received from other input sources such as connected computing devices. For security, the control path defined by the control module and the on-board user input device can be isolated from other more sophisticated control devices that can be prone to hacking and remote control.

Privacy device and method for use with network enabled cameras

A method for controlling operation of a power switch includes obtaining, by one or more processors of a power switch, data indicative of one or more non-contact gestures. The method includes determining, by the one or more processors, a control action based at least in part on the data indicative of the one or more non-contact gestures. The method includes implementing, by the one or more processors, the control action.

Gesture control for in-wall device

Fan systems for circulating air in a space are provided. In one example implementation, a fan system includes a canopy controller configured to be disposed within a canopy housing of a ceiling fan. The canopy controller can be configured to control operation of a motor associated with the ceiling fan. The canopy controller can have a communication interface configured to communicate using a first wireless communication protocol. The fan system can include an in-wall controller. The in-wall controller being in electrical communication with the canopy controller via one or more electrical conductors. The in-wall controller can include an interface element configured to receive a user input. The in-wall controller can be configured to communicate one or more control commands to the canopy controller using the first wireless communication protocol. The in-wall controller configured to communicate data associated with the ceiling fan via a second wireless communication protocol.

Connected fan systems

Power switching devices deliver power to at least one powered device and may command, control and/or monitor the powered device(s). The power switching devices may further bridge communications between remote devices, and for wireless devices uses wireless communication, such as, but not limited to, radio frequency (RF), Bluetooth, light, and sound frequencies, and Wi-Fi, wired and wireless internet, the cloud, and personal computing devices. Systems utilize such power switching devices for monitoring, command and/or control of the remote or powered devices, integration of information into data management applications, data storage, putting into place threshold alarms, monitoring available variables, functions and data, and associating events with time.
