A touch screen panel includes a transparent substrate; a plurality of first sensing patterns at a first side of the transparent substrate and coupled to each other along a first direction; a plurality of second sensing patterns at the first side of the transparent substrate and coupled to each other along a second direction, the second sensing patterns being alternately arranged with the first sensing patterns not to overlap with the first sensing patterns; and a phase difference compensating layer at the first side of the transparent substrate and adapted to compensate for a birefringence phase difference of a liquid crystal layer in a liquid crystal display panel at a second side of the transparent substrate.

Touch screen panel

A display device having a touch screen includes a touch screen panel defined by an active area in which an external input is sensed and a non-active area outside the active area. A display panel displays an image based on the sensing of the touch screen panel. A window covers the touch screen panel. A lower resin layer is formed on a rear surface of the touch screen panel to join the touch screen panel and the display panel to be joined together. An upper resin layer is formed on a front surface of the touch screen panel to join the touch screen panel and the window together. A lower dam or an upper dam is formed on the rear or front surface of the non-active area in the touch screen panel along a side circumference of the lower or upper resin layer, respectively.

Display device having a touch screen panel and manufacturing method thereof

The touch screen panel according to the embodiment of the present invention includes a plurality of coupling patterns arranged on a transparent substrate in an island shape, an insulating film formed on the coupling patterns and having contact holes arranged corresponding to end portions of the coupling patterns, and first and second sensing patterns formed on the insulating film. The second sensing pattern includes second sensing cells, and each of the second sensing cells are formed in a region of the insulating film having a pair of adjacent contact holes to be electrically coupled to coupling patterns exposed through the contact holes.

The touch screen panel of the present invention includes first sensing patterns formed on a transparent substrate, a first insulating film formed on the first sensing patterns, second sensing patterns formed on the first insulating film, a plurality of metal patterns disposed on edge regions of the first and second sensing patterns, and a plurality of auxiliary metal patterns formed in the same layer as the metal patterns. Each of the first and second sensing patterns has sensing cells and coupling lines. Each of the coupling lines connects two of the sensing cells. Each of the metal patterns is coupled to the first sensing pattern or to the second sensing pattern, and each of the auxiliary metal patterns being formed on one of the first coupling lines or on one of the second coupling lines.

A dual liquid crystal display device includes a transmissive liquid crystal display panel; a reflective liquid crystal display panel formed on the same substrate as the transmissive liquid crystal display panel; a first light guide block disposed under the transmissive liquid crystal display panel and having dot patterns formed on a first surface thereof; a second light guide block disposed under the reflective liquid crystal display panel and having V-grooves formed on a first surface thereof; a light source disposed adjacent to the first light guide block; a housing in which the transmissive and reflective liquid crystal display panels, the light source and the light guide blocks are seated, the housing having an opening to correspond to an image display surface of the reflective liquid crystal display panel; a dual brightness enhancement film provided in a region corresponding to the opening of the housing.

Dual liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display (LCD) and method for driving the LCD using one or more polarity inversion methods is provided. In one embodiment, the invention relates to a method of driving an LCD comprising a liquid crystal panel partitioned by a plurality of gate lines and data lines and including a plurality of liquid crystal cells arranged in a matrix and auxiliary lines adjacent to and parallel to the gate lines, the auxiliary lines coupled with the plurality of liquid crystal cells, the method including supplying an auxiliary voltage that increases from a low level to a high level on a first pair of auxiliary lines adjacent to each other for a jth frame period, supplying an auxiliary voltage that decreases from a high level to a low level on a second pair of auxiliary lines adjacent to each other for the jth frame period, supplying the auxiliary voltages at levels opposite to the levels of the jth frame period on the first and second pairs of auxiliary lines in a (j+1)th frame period.

Liquid crystal display with auxiliary lines and method of driving the same

A touch screen panel that includes a transparent substrate, first sensing patterns formed on the transparent substrate and having first sensing cells arranged in a column and first coupling lines for coupling adjacent first sensing cells, second sensing patterns formed on the transparent substrate and having second sensing cells arranged in a row of the same Y coordinate in a second direction. An insulating layer is formed on the first and second sensing patterns with a number of contact holes formed to expose end portions of the second sensing cells that form the second sensing patterns are formed. A number of coupling patterns are formed on the insulating layer where the contact holes were formed. A number of metal patterns are arranged on edges of regions in which the first and second sensing patterns are formed to electrically couple the sensing patterns in the units of the column or the row to position detection lines.

The touch screen panel device according to the embodiment of the present embodiments includes: a touch screen panel; and an adhesive member that is formed on at least any one of an upper surface and a lower surface of the touch screen panel and includes an adhesive layer and re-releasing coating layers formed on both surfaces of the adhesive layer, wherein the re-releasing coating layer is formed by adding fluorine (F) or silicon (Si) into UV curing resin.

Disclosed is a liquid crystal display including a liquid crystal panel that includes a plurality of liquid crystal cells for controlling light transmission, a common electrode driving circuit for providing a common voltage signal to a common electrode provided in the liquid crystal panel and a first signal driving circuit for providing a first signal to a transparent electrode provided in the liquid crystal panel. The first signal and the common voltage signal have the same frequency and amplitude, but are out of phase with each other. The transparent electrode is designed to cancel an acoustic noise generated by the application of the common voltage signal. The liquid crystal panel includes two substrates that face each other. In one embodiment, the common electrode and the transparent electrode are formed in the same substrate, and in another embodiment, the common electrode and the transparent electrode are formed in different substrates.

Liquid crystal display and driving method thereof

A dual liquid crystal display device includes a transmissive liquid crystal display panel; a reflective liquid crystal display panel formed on the same substrate as the transmissive liquid crystal display panel; a first light guide block disposed under the transmissive liquid crystal display panel and having dot patterns formed on a first surface thereof; a second light guide block disposed under the reflective liquid crystal display panel and having V-grooves formed on a first surface thereof and dot pattern formed on a second surface thereof; a light source disposed adjacent to the first light guide block; and a housing in which the transmissive and reflective liquid crystal display panels, the light source and the light guide blocks are seated, the housing having an opening to correspond to an image display surface of the reflective liquid crystal display panel.

A Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) includes: a liquid crystal panel having liquid crystal cells divided by scan lines and data lines and arranged in a matrix shape; a data driving circuit to supply an image signal to the liquid crystal cells via the data lines; a scan driving circuit to sequentially select and scan the scan lines and to control an on/off state of switching elements arranged in each of the liquid crystal cells; a timing controller to drive both the data driving circuit and the scan driving circuit, based on an externally inputted signal; and a common electrode driving circuit to drive a common electrode of the liquid crystal panel. The common electrode driving circuit supplies a common voltage to the common electrode, the common voltage including a DC voltage for a first period of a first horizontal period (1H) and another voltage for a second remaining period of the first horizontal period (1H).
