A wireless PTT communication system may include mobile wireless PTT communications devices, each configured to send a PTT call request, a wireless network coupling the mobile wireless PTT communications devices, and a PTT server. The PTT server may be configured to when a number of the mobile wireless PTT communications devices in a given talkgroup is greater than or equal to a first threshold, then cause each mobile wireless PTT communications device of the given talkgroup to report a respective location. The PTT server may be configured to when a number of the mobile wireless PTT communications devices in the given talkgroup is less than the first threshold, then disable each mobile wireless PTT communications device of the given talkgroup from reporting the respective location.

Systems () and methods () for using Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Services ('MBMS') transport bearers in a network. The methods comprise: performing first operations by a computing device () to setup an MBMS transport bearer over which media (e.g., voice) is able to be communicated to a plurality of clients (-) via multicast transmissions; and performing second operations by the computing device to inform the plurality of clients of the MBMS transport bearer's establishment. The second operations include, but are not limited to: determining an immediate need of each client of the plurality of clients based on weighted attributes (e.g., priority group affiliating, and/or group status); assembling a prioritization list of clients based on the determined immediate needs of each client; and delivering unicast messages to the clients in accordance with an order specified by the prioritization list.

Systems and methods for establishing and using multimedia broadcast multicast services transport bearers

Systems () and methods for a full-duplex call transfer into a half-duplex call. The methods involve: establishing the first full-duplex call between a first communication device () and a second communication device () already engaged in the half-duplex call with at least one third communication device (); and communicating a REFER request message () from the second communication device to the first communication device. The REFER request message includes contact information for redirecting the first communication device to a hybrid application server and token information useful for patching the full-duplex call into the half-duplex call. In response to the REFER request message, the second communication device performs operations to terminate the first full-duplex call and establish a second full-duplex call with the hybrid application server. Thereafter, the hybrid application server performs operations to patch the second full-duplex call into the half-duplex call using the token information.
