A mixer for analytical application mixes a container of fluid without a magnetic stir bar. A device for testing a liquid for particles can use the mixer. The mixing can occur in a sealed container, and liquid can be transmitted to the device from the sealed container.

A coaxial cavity resonator is described. The resonator includes a tapered inner conductor for increasing the Q of the cavity.

Tapered coaxial resonator and method

A tunable resonant cavity including a cavity housing having top and bottom walls with a post disposed in said cavity extending from die bottom of the cavity toward and spaced from the top. The length of the post is adjustable to adjust the resonant frequency of the cavity. The materials forming the resonant cavity are selected to provide temperature compensation.
