Embodiments are directed to a stretch hood or stretch label multilayer film comprising a first skin layer, a second skin layer, and a core layer disposed between the first skin layer and the second skin layer, wherein: the first skin layer, the second skin layer, or both independently comprise at least 50 wt. % of a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) resin, wherein the skin LLDPE resin exhibits each of the following properties: a Crystallization Elution Fractionation (CEF) fraction of less than 8% above an elution temperature of 94&#xb0; C.; and a melt index (I) of 0.1 to 2.0 g/10 min when measured according to ASTM D 1238 at a load of 2.16 kg and temperature of 190&#xb0; C. The core layer comprises a polyethylene resin having a wt. % crystallinity of from 10% to 40% and a single melting peak as measured by differential scanning calorimetry.

Multilayer stretch hood compositions and structures

A multi-layer structure comprising: a) at least one layer comprising a polyolefin component comprising i) 60 to 94 weight percent of a first component selected from the group consisting of ethylene homopolymer, ethylene copolymer, polypropylene homopolymer, polypropylene copolymer, and combinations thereof ii) 0-35 weight percent of a functional polymer component, and iii) 1-35 weight percent of a compatibilizer component comprising an anhydride and/or carboxylic acid functionalized ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer having a melt viscosity (177&#xb0; C.) less than, or equal to, 200,000 cP and a density from 0.855 to 0.94 g/cc; b) at least one tie layer comprising maleic-anhydride grafted polymer with a melt index of less than 50 dg/min, wherein the tie layer does not contain the compatibilizer component; and c) at least one polar layer comprising a polar polymer, is disclosed.

Self-recyclable barrier packaging

Multilayer films comprising three or more layers have improved properties for a variety of applications. The multilayer films often have a total thickness of from about 10 to about 50 microns. Blown multilayer film properties may include excellent cling with reduced unwinding noise levels. Cast multilayer film properties include improved elasticity, impact, puncture, and tear properties.

Multilayer films

Multi-layer elastic air quenched blown film structures are disclosed which include: a first layer incorporating a propylene-based copolymer and optionally, a linear low density polyethylene or a low density polyethylene; and at least one second layer incorporating a linear low density polyethylene copolymer and optionally, a propylene-based copolymer and/or a low density polyethylene. Alternatively the second layer of the film structures may contain an in-reactor blend of a substantially linear polyethylene (or a homogeneously branched linear polyethylene) and a linear low density polyethylene. The film structures show an excellent balance of Dart impact, Elmendorf tear (in both the machine direction and cross direction), elastic holding force and elastic recovery.

Multilayer elastic film structures

The invention is directed to a composition suitable for use in a single-sided stretch cling film, the composition having from 0.1 to 20 percent by weight of a propylene-based copolymer having substantially isotactic propylene sequences, and having from 80 to 99 percent by weight of an ethylene-based copolymer having a density of at least 0.905 g/cc, wherein a film made from the composition exhibits cling layer to release layer cling of at least 70 grams force per inch as measured by ASTM D-5458-95, noise levels of less than 87 dB during unwinding operations, and has a modulus of at least 3 MPA as determined by ASTM D-882.

Composition suitable for single-sided, low-noise, stretch cling film and films made therefrom

The invention is directed to a composition suitable for high gloss air quenched blown films. The films are comprised of from 2 to 15 percent by weight of a substantially isotactic propylene-based copolymer having a melt flow rate of at least 5 g/10 minutes and having from 8 to 21 mole percent units derived from an alpha olefin; and from 85 to 98 percent by weight of an ethylene-based copolymer having a melt index of from 0.1 to 9 g/10 minutes. An air quenched blown film made from the inventive composition exhibits a value for gloss greater than the value for gloss exhibited by an air quenched blown film made solely from the ethylene-based copolymer.
