The gas fueled water heater appliance may include a tank for storage of water for heater, a chamber wall, a gas burner, and the flame arrestor. The gas burner may be positioned adjacent to the tank and within a combustion chamber. The flame arrestor may be positioned beneath the gas burner. The flame arrestor may include a bottom plate and a top plate. The bottom plate may define a non-permeable region and a perforated region. The perforated region may include a plurality of apertures extending through the top plate. The top plate may be positioned above the bottom plate and may define a non-permeable region and a perforated region. The perforated region may include a plurality of apertures extending through the top plate.

Gas fueled water heater appliance having a flame arrestor

A heat pump water heater appliance includes an electronic mixing valve. The electronic mixing valve is positioned within a casing of the heat pump water heater appliance. A mixed water conduit and a heated water conduit of the electronic mixing valve may be positioned coaxially with each other, and a cold water conduit of the electronic mixing valve may be oriented such that the cold water conduit extends orthogonal to the heated water conduit and the mixed water conduit. A plunger is positioned within the valve body at the mixing chamber of the valve body. A motor is coupled to the plunger, the motor being operable to adjust a position of a head of the plunger within the valve body.

Hot water heater systems and methods for monitoring electronic mixing valves of hot water heater systems are provided. An electronic mixing valve provides a flow of water in a mixed output line. A method includes determining whether an output flow event is occurring, determining a first temperature value for water in the mixed output line when the output flow event is occurring, comparing the first temperature value to a setpoint temperature value to obtain a first temperature error value when the output flow event is occurring, and generating a failure signal when the first temperature error value is outside of a predetermined error range and the output flow event is occurring.

A gas fueled water heater appliance having a temperature control switch is provided herein. The gas fueled water heater appliance may include a tank for storage of water for heating, a chamber wall, a gas burner, a valve, the temperature control switch, and a conductive probe. The chamber wall may define a combustion chamber. The gas burner may be positioned adjacent to the tank and within the combustion chamber to heat the water in the tank. The valve may control a flow of gaseous fuel to the gas burner. The temperature control switch may be in operable communication with the valve. The conductive probe may extend through the chamber wall from a first end positioned on the temperature control switch to a second end positioned within the combustion chamber.

Hot water heater systems including electronic mixing valves and methods for controlling such valves are provided. An electronic mixing valve provides a flow of water in a mixed output line. A method includes monitoring an input temperature of cold water supplied to the valve, storing a value of the input temperature, and setting a position limit of the valve based on the stored value, wherein the position limit of the valve is greater than a fully closed position of the valve and less than a fully open position of the valve.

A water heater appliance includes a tank and a heated water conduit that extends from the tank. A mixing valve is coupled to the heated water conduit, and a mixed water conduit extends from the mixing valve. Method for supplying heated water from a water heater appliance to a washing machine appliance

A water heater appliance includes a tank and a heated water conduit extending from the tank. A mixing valve is coupled to the heated water conduit, and a heat trap is mounted to the heated water conduit upstream of the mixing valve. The heat trap includes a membrane disposed within the heated water conduit. The membrane of the heat trap may assist with obstructing recirculation of heated water from the tank into the heated water conduit.

A method for operating a water heater appliance includes determining a temperature, T, of water within a tank of the water heater appliance, a temperature, T, of water at an inlet conduit of the water heater appliance and an actual position, VMP, of a mixing valve of the water heater appliance. The method also includes calculating a theoretical position, VMP, of the mixing valve of the water heater appliance and establishing a lower flow rate limit for water exiting the water heater appliance and an upper flow rate limit for water exiting the water heater appliance.

The present subject matter provides a damper valve. The damper valve includes an outer sleeve and an inner sleeve. The inner sleeve is positioned within the outer sleeve and is pivotable between a first position and a second position within the outer sleeve. Radial openings of the inner sleeve align with radial openings of the outer sleeve when the inner sleeve is in the first position, and axial openings of the inner sleeve align with axial openings of the outer sleeve when the inner sleeve is in the second position. Hot water heater systems and methods for controlling electronic mixing valves of hot water heater systems are disclosed. An electronic mixing valve provides a flow of water in a mixed output line. A method includes determining a temperature value inside a hot water tank of the hot water heater, and comparing the hot water tank temperature value to a setpoint temperature value. The method further includes comparing a temperature value for water in the mixed output line to a lower setpoint threshold value when the hot water tank temperature value is greater than the setpoint temperature value, wherein the lower setpoint threshold value is less than the setpoint temperature, and setting the electronic mixing valve to a safe position wherein the electronic mixing valve is less than fully open when the temperature value for water in the mixed output line is less than the lower setpoint threshold value.

A water heater appliance with a mixing valve positioned within a casing of the water heater appliance is provided. The mixing valve is fluidly coupled to a heated water conduit and a bypass conduit of the water heater appliance. An actuator assembly is configured for selectively adjusting a mixing ratio of the mixing valve. The actuator assembly includes a knob positioned at an outer surface of the casing.
