Implementations set forth herein relate to an automated assistant and/or other application that can adapt settings of a foldable display interface of a computing device according to user interactions occurring during a multilingual conversation. During the multilingual conversation between at least two users, translated content of the conversation can be rendered at a portion of the display interface according to which user is actively speaking. When a user is actively speaking, a brightness level of a portion of the display interface that is facing another user in the conversation can be modified to emphasize that the user is speaking and that the translated content is being rendered. When the user who is speaking is also the owner of the computing device, a portion of the display interface that is facing the other user can exhibit a limited responsiveness to touch inputs.

Adapting settings of a foldable display for facilitating translation of multilingual conversations

Implementations relate to determining a well-formed phrase to suggest to a user to submit in lieu of a not well-formed phrase. The suggestion is rendered via an interface that is provided to a client device of the user. Those implementations relate to determining that a phrase is not well-formed, identifying alternate phrases that are related to the not well-formed phrase, and scoring the alternate phrases to select one or more of the alternate phrases to render via the interface. Some of those implementations are related to identifying that the phrase is not well-formed based on occurrences of the phrase in documents that are generated by a source with the language of the phrase as the primary language of the creator.

Providing a well-formed alternate phrase as a suggestion in lieu of a not well-formed phrase

Implementations relate to determining a secondary language proficiency measure, for a user in a secondary language (i.e., a language other than a primary language specified for the user), where determining the secondary language proficiency measure is based on past interactions of the user that are related to the secondary language. Those implementations further relate to utilizing the determined secondary language proficiency measure to increase efficiency of user interaction(s), such as interaction(s) with a language learning application and/or an automated assistant. Some of those implementations utilize the secondary language proficiency measure in automatically setting value(s), biasing automatic speech recognition, and/or determining how to render natural language output.

Determining and utilizing secondary language proficiency measure

Users can view images or renderings of items placed (virtually) within a physical space. For example, a rendering of an item can be placed within a live camera view of the physical space. A snapshot of the physical space can be captured and the snapshot can be customized, shared, etc. The renderings can be represented as two-dimensional images, e.g., virtual stickers or three-dimensional models of the items. Users can have the ability to view different renderings, move those items around, and develop views of the physical space that may be desirable. The renderings can link to products offered through an electronic marketplace and those products can be consumed. Further, collaborative design is enabled through modeling the physical space and enabling users to view and move around the renderings in a virtual view of the physical space.

Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and method for visual search and augmented reality, in which an onscreen body of visual markers overlayed on the interface signals the current state of an image recognition process. Specifically, the body of visual markers may take on a plurality of behaviors, in which a particular behavior is indicative of a particular state. Thus, the user can tell what the current state of the scanning process is by the behavior of the body of visual markers. The behavior of the body of visual markers may also indicate to the user recommended actions that can be taken to improve the scanning condition or otherwise facilitate the process. In various embodiments, as the scanning process goes from one state to another state, the onscreen body of visual markers may move or seamlessly transition from one behavior to another behavior, accordingly.

Systems and methods for a markerless approach to displaying an image of a virtual object in an environment are described. A computing device is used to capture an image of a real-world environment; for example including a feature-rich planar surface. One or more virtual objects which do not exist in the real-world environment are displayed in the image, such as by being positioned in a manner that they appear to be resting on the planar surface, based at least on a sensor bias value and scale information obtained by capturing multiple image views of the real-world environment.
