Embodiments herein are directed to a pedal assembly including a housing, a retaining assembly, and a pedal arm. The retaining assembly includes a first member having a first receiving cavity and a first sensor assembly and a second member having a second receiving cavity and a second sensor assembly. A first protrusion extends from one side of a pivot end of a pedal arm to be movably received within the first receiving cavity and a second protrusion extending from the opposite side of the one side of the pivot end to be movably received within the second receiving cavity. When a force applied on the pedal pad end moves the first protrusion within the first receiving cavity and the second protrusion within the second receiving cavity, the first sensor assembly and the second sensor assembly independently sense the movement of the first protrusion and the second protrusion respectively.

Pedal pad assemblies, retaining assemblies, and sensor assemblies therein

Embodiments herein are directed to a pedal pad assembly. The pedal pad assembly includes an outer housing that has a cavity, an inner housing that has an outer surface and is slidably received within the cavity of the outer housing, a pedal pad coupled to the inner housing and is configured to translate the inner housing along a movement axis in response to a load applied to the pedal pad and a sensor assembly that includes a plurality of target members coupled to the outer surface of the inner housing and a sensor configured to sense a position of at least one target member. During a translation of the inner housing along the movement axis, at least one target member of the plurality of target members moves with the inner housing from a first position to a second position indicative of the movement of the inner housing within the cavity.

Pedal pad assemblies

An inductor sensor assembly for determining to position of object includes a layer of ferrite overlaying exciting and receiving coils formed on a substrate. A magnet attached to the target produces a virtual coupler in an area of ferrite overlaying the coils. An application for a shock absorber includes a sensor module mounted in a recess in a dust cover and a magnet mounted to a cylinder tube of the shock absorber.

Inductive sensor for shock absorber

A fluid level monitor incorporated into a fuel tank. A sensor module is adapted to being mounted to an exterior of the tank. A tube extends from the module within the tank and secures a housing at an interior location. The housing has a gear assembly, a float arm pivotally secures to the gear assembly and, in response to changes in a fluid level of the tank, causes the gear assembly to rotate a drive rod extending within the tube. A coupler forms a portion of the sensor module and is secured to an upper end of the drive rod. Rotation of the coupler relative to a PCB integrated into the sensor module produces an inductive signal indicative of the amount of displacement of the float and, consequently, the level of the fluid within the tank.

Fluid level monitor

The present invention provides for a method of manufacturing and installing an electronic throttle control pedal to a bracket within a vehicle. The method includes the steps of making a customized pedal mounting bracket for a vehicle wherein the customized pedal mounting bracket has universal connecting features. The method further includes mounting the customized pedal mounting bracket to a vehicle and attaching the universal pedal housing to the customized pedal mounting bracket by means of the universal connecting features. An apparatus of the present invention including a universal pedal housing having a rear surface wherein the rear surface includes at least one locating protrusion. The pedal housing further including a plurality of compression tabs. The apparatus including a pedal mounting bracket having a front surface wherein the rear surface of the pedal housing connects to the front surface of the pedal mounting bracket.

Method and instruction for attachment of ETC pedal to bracket

A pedal assembly having a hysteresis creating configuration in communication with a sensor of a pedal assembly. The assembly includes a housing and a pedal arm wherein the pedal arm is pivotally mounted by bushings to the housing. A connector and sensor assembly is provided connected through the pivot point (hub) where the pedal arm connects to the housing of the pedal assembly. A spring connects to a spring carrier wherein the spring is depressed upon depression of the pedal arm of the pedal assembly. As the spring applies a force to the spring carrier, the spring carrier slides down an inclined wall and applies a force to a friction shoe. The friction shoe is in contact with the generally circular hub of the pedal arm thus providing a hysteresis effect as the friction shoe contacts the hub of the pedal arm.

Electronic throttle control pedal assembly

A mounting assembly and method for attaching a vehicle pedal assembly to a vehicle floor. A main bracket is provided wherein the main bracket having an upper surface, the main bracket is mounted to a vehicle floor. An aperture provided through the upper surface of the main bracket. A first insert mounted within the insert, the first insert configured to securely connect to the aperture of the main bracket. A second insert mounted to a bottom surface of a pedal housing, the second insert mounted within the first insert to securely connect the main bracket to the pedal housing. The first insert and the second insert rotated into a secured position.

Mounting assembly for electronic throttle control assembly

A sensor assembly for a vehicle electronic braking system including a housing, at least one linear sensor, the at least one sensor contained within the housing, the linear sensor adapted to measure the linear distance traveled of a brake pedal. The assembly further includes a rotary sensor, the rotary sensor also contained within the same housing, the rotary sensor adapted to measure rotary motion of a DC motor in an the electronic braking system. The rotary sensor and the at least one linear sensor each in communication with a brake control unit. The at least one linear sensor and the at least one rotary sensor is encapsulated, either together or separately. The at least one linear sensor is a Hall-effect sensor. A wake up switch circuit is integrated with at least one of the linear sensors to wake up the system when the driver depresses the brake pedal in the electronic braking system. The rotary sensor is an inductive sensor.

Integrated rotary and linear sensor

A pedal assembly for simulating the feel of a standard pedal assembly in a vehicle. The pedal assembly includes a pedal pivotally mounted to a housing. A lever arm is further provided connecting the pedal to the housing. A kickdown subassembly is mounted within the housing. The kickdown subassembly includes a bead and an abutment portion. Depression of the pedal assembly results in movement of the bead towards the abutment portion and provides for kickdown when the bead contacts the abutment portion and then subsequently moves past the abutment portion.

Floor mount ETC pedal with integrated kickdown and tactile alert mechanisms

A pedal assembly having crash absorption features. The pedal assembly includes a pedal arm having a lower end. A slider bracket is provided connected to the rear surface of the pedal arm. A slider mounted within the slider bracket is connected to a housing of the pedal assembly. The slider bracket includes at least one shear tab breakable by the slider. A crush block is provided mounted within the housing of the pedal assembly. The crush block is further connected to the pedal arm. An absorption block is provided mounted adjacent to and forward of the crush block. In the event of a front end crash, a forward force is applied on the pedal pad. As this happens, the slider moves downwards within the slider bracket thereby breaking the shear tabs and allowing further rotation of the pedal arm.
