A sensor device is adapted to detect glucose concentration in saliva of an object, and includes a conductive substrate, a polymer layer, and a carbon nanomaterial unit. The polymer layer is disposed on the conductive substrate and is made from conducting polymer. The carbon nanomaterial unit is disposed on the polymer layer and includes at least one carbon-nanotube layer. The saliva of the object is applied on the carbon nanomaterial unit and an enzyme is added to be mixed with the saliva to detect the glucose concentration in the saliva. A method for making the sensor device is also provided.

Sensor device and method for making the same

A toothpaste-dispensing toothbrush includes a replaceable brush head, a pump head, a truncated dispensing platform attached with a spout, and a handle containing toothpaste. The brush head has a through hole and a stepped backside mating with the truncated dispensing platform by a set of latch mechanisms. The detachment of the brush head requires two steps by using two hands to rotate the brush head then push it off from the dispensing platform. The brush head is provided with an extended lever segment having a latch notch and the truncated dispensing platform has an extended neck portion having a neck post for engaging with the lever notch for additional locking. The stepped backside enables the brush head to brush back teeth with comfort. The applications of the replaceable brush head to a manual toothbrush and a toothpaste-dispensing electric toothbrush are provided.

Toothpaste-dispensing toothbrush with a replaceable brush head

A lab-on-a-cartridge (LOAC) handheld assay device including an integrated test cartridge, a carbon nanotube electrode sensor, and a reagent dispenser for dispensing a liquid reagent into the test cartridge. The test cartridge includes a syringe plunger for drawing a test fluid into a test cavity, a bottom wall with a reagent inlet port, and a vibration adaptor for mixing. The reagent input port is attached with a slit valve for engaging with a slit spout of the reagent dispenser as a needleless dispensing system. Carbon nanotube sensors of different three-electrode configurations are provided for testing a volume of test fluid to increase the electrochemical reaction sensitivity. The assay device can be used with a CNT three-electrode sensor for saliva testing for determining glucose concentration.
