Machine learning and data analytics based systems and methods for generating recommendations for achieving optimal cellular connectivity based on connectivity details and current and predicted future events are provided. According to one embodiment, a carrier connection status based recommendation system, receives data pertaining to past, current, and predicted connection/performance data of various wireless carriers that it can recommend for a network, real-time user reports, external parameters such as expected weather, pre-determined parameters such as planned outages, and events that may impact performance of the carriers. The system also receives data pertaining to network metrics and components in the network, including requirements and performance of connected computing devices, and based on all such data, the system uses machine learning and predictive modeling to generate one or more recommendations to achieve optimal cellular connectivity, the recommendations including switching of carriers and reconfiguration of various hardware/software components therein.

Generating recommendations for achieving optimal cellular connectivity based on connectivity details and current and predicted future events

Systems and methods for managing data usage of a cellular modem during DoS/DDoS attacks are provided. According to one embodiment, a network security device of a private network detects a DoS attack in network traffic going through the network security device and determines whether the DoS attack is being transmitted through a cellular modem of a cellular data network. The network security device reduces data usage of the cellular modem when the DoS attack is detected and the DoS attack being is transmitted through the cellular modem.

Management of cellular data usage during denial of service (DoS) attacks

Systems and methods for seamless provisioning and configuration of cellular modems of a private network by a provisioning server are provided. A network device detects a SIM card is inserted into a cellular modem of the network device and reads one or more properties of the SIM card from the SIM card. The network device sends the one or more properties of the SIM card to a provisioning server and receives configurations of the cellular modem from the provisioning server and applies the configuration that matches the properties of the SIM card to the cellular modem. The network device activates a connection to a cellular data network through the cellular modem.
