A method and system for updating a topology on router nodes in a distributed storage system are described. The method can include obtaining, by a first service of a control plane service, topology information from an inventory data store by querying a second service of the control plane service that manages the inventory data store for the topology information. The method can further include generating, by the first service of the control plane service, a topology payload based on the obtained topology information. The method can also include sending, by the first service of the control plane service, a request comprising the topology payload to a router node.

Systems and methods for streamlined topology updates for distributed data storage

A method and apparatus for cache warming in a distributed storage system is described. The method can include detecting a destructive change to one or more nodes of an existing cluster of cache data nodes. The method can also include allocating a new cluster of cache data nodes in a write-only mode, and streaming data from each cache data node of the existing cluster to cache data nodes of the new cluster. The method can further include servicing a data access request from a selected cache data node of the existing cluster while writing data from the data access request to a selected cache data node of the new cluster. Furthermore, the method can include in response to a determination that data from the cache data nodes of the existing cluster has been successfully streamed to the new cluster, servicing new data access requests with the new cluster.

Systems and methods for cache warming in a distributed data storage system

A method and apparatus for updating data router nodes in a distributed storage system are described. The method can include querying, by a first database agent of a database node, a cache data store for health status metrics of the cache data store. The method can also include storing, by the first database agent of the database node, the health status metrics in a data repository. Furthermore, the method can include obtaining, by a second database agent of a router node, the health status metrics from the data repository, and updating, by the second database agent of the router node, a database topology file based on the health status metrics.

Systems and methods for zero downtime topology updates for distributed data storage

The disclosed computer-implemented method includes receiving an indication that cache data is to be copied from an originating cluster having a specified number of replica nodes to a destination cluster having an arbitrary number of replica nodes. The method further includes copying the cache data to a cache dump and creating a log that identifies where the cache data is stored in the cache dump. The method further includes copying the cache data from the cache dump to the replica nodes of the destination cluster. The copying includes writing the copied data in a distributed manner, such that at least a portion of the copied data is distributed over each of the replica nodes in the destination cluster. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Cache warming: agility for a stateful service

Approaches, techniques, and mechanisms are disclosed for implementing a distributed firewall. In an embodiment, many different computer assets police incoming messages based on local policy data. This local policy data is synchronized with global policy data. The global policy data is generated by one or more separate analyzers. Each analyzer has access to message logs, or information derived therefrom, for groups of computer assets, and is thus able to generate policies based on intelligence from an entire group as opposed to an isolated asset. Among other effects, some of the approaches, techniques, and mechanisms may be effective even in computing environments with limited supervision over the attack surface, and/or computing environments in which assets may need to make independent decisions with respect to how incoming messages should be handled, on account of latency and/or unreliability in connections to other system components.
