A system and method for managing the contents of a medical storage container, such as a tray, that has an inventory of medical articles. A Faraday cage enclosure is used to isolate, scan, and inventory the container. The container and each of the medical articles in the container have a respective RFID tag. A processor is programmed to retrieve the inventory list for the container based on its RFID tag and compare the actual contents of the container according to their tags to the inventory list. The processor is also programmed to show the layout of the pockets of a tray and show an indicator of which pocket a particular medical article should be located.

RFID medical article tracking system and method

Systems and methods for storing and accessing healthcare data in blockchain managed digital filing cabinets are disclosed. The system can receive and store patient healthcare data from sources such as wearable devices, an implant, patient devices, healthcare provider devices, databases, cloud storage accounts, healthcare databases, or digital filing cabinets. The system can convert the healthcare into non-fungible tokens on a blockchain to protect the healthcare data from being accessed by nefarious actors. The system can manage access to the healthcare data based on authentication rules.

An inventory management system for wirelessly taking inventories of medical trays comprises an easily assemblable and disassemblable enclosure comprising interconnected electrically conductive walls to form a Faraday cage. The interior space defined by the walls is large enough to accept the trays. RFID readers are placed within the enclosure directed at the tray to excite and read the RFID tags disposed on the medical articles within the tray. The walls of the enclosure are flexible and one of the walls is rolled up and down to act as an opening to the interior space. A host computer stores the inventory of the tray and compares it against a previous inventory existence for resupply purposes. The host computer also detects expired and recalled medical articles in the tray. If a recalled article is detected, the host computer determines if a substitute article exists.

Wireless inventory management system

A retrofit self-contained RFID-enabling module for automatically identifying and tracking medical articles having RF tags located in a container having electrically-conductive walls includes a base having a probe mounted to the base for injecting activating rf energy into the container in which the module has been mounted. The base also includes a reader board that controls the probe between an injection mode, in which it injects RFID tag activation energy into the container to activate the tags on the medical articles, and a non-injecting mode during which the identification signals of the activated RFID tags on the medical articles can be read. The module is self-contained in that only power is needed to operate. The size of the module, including its components, is selected in relation to the size of the container so that the module may be 'dropped into' the container.
