A closure for use in joining together container portions to enclose an opening in a container. The closure includes a pair of intermeshable closure members, each having a structured surface. The structured surfaces adhere to each other when brought into contact to secure the container portions together.

Container with intermeshable closure members

A process and apparatus is described for providing a strip of flexible closure material to be affixed to a receptacle. The strip of flexible closure material comprises a combination of a plurality of interengaging strip portions in their interengaged state. The process includes the step of supplying a tape of flexible closure material having a transverse width with a plurality of interengaging elements across the transverse width that extend from the tape. Then, the tape is separated along its longitudinal length into a plurality of strip portions with at least two of the strip portions having an interengaging element extending therefrom. Lastly, the strip portions having an interengaging element are brought into contact with one another while mating the interengaging element of each of the strip portions brought together with that of the other. The process takes place continuously in line with equipment for affixing the flexible closure material to a receptacle. The separating step is accomplished by tearing the supplied flexible closure tape along its longitudinal length.

Process for preparing a strip of flexible closure material to be applied

A bag having a front panel and a rear panel having respective side and bottom portions sealed together leaving an opening in the bag for access to the interior thereof. The rear panel extends beyond the opening to form a flap that can be folded over the opening. A first area of adhesive means is carried by the rear panel, i.e., the flap, and is adapted to secure the panels together to close the opening of the bag by bonding to a second area of adhesive means carried by the front panel. Each adhesive means comprises a backing bearing a layer of adhesive on one major surface thereof, and each is bonded to its respective panel by means of the second major surface of said backing, which second major surface is bonded to the material of its respective panel by means of heating, fusing, or the like.

Security deposit bag

A tamper indicating tape for use with a closure or container. The tape comprises a film including phase separated polymers. Colored indicia are applied to opposing major surfaces of the film indicative of a condition that someone has tampered with the tape, e.g., tape removal and reattachment, or abrading. The film further bears a layer of adhesive thereon as a means for adhering the tape to a portion of a container or to a closure tape on a can lid. When the film of the tamper indicating tape is sufficiently split, one set of colored indicia is obscured and the other set of colored indicia is rendered perceptible. When the film is abraded to remove the perceptible set of colored indicia, the aforementioned obscured set of colored indicia is rendered perceptible.

Tamper indicating tape

A tamper indicating film and tape for use with a package. The tape includes a delaminating film including pahse separated polymers. Indicia are applied to opposing major surfaces of the film indicative of different conditions of the tape. The film is adhesively applied to secure container parts together and enclose an opening in the container. When applied, only one of the indicia are perceptible. When the film is internally delaminated, obscuring one set of indicia and rendering the other set of indicia perceptible.

A flexible bag having front and back panels sealed along bottom and side edges. A pressure sensitive adhesive closure strip is adhered to the back panel and to the rear surface of the front panel. The front panel includes a transverse separation line intermediate the bottom edge of the bag and the closure strip. A portion of the front panel above the separation line may be removed from the bag so as to expose the closure strip for securing the back panel to the front surface of the front panel for closing the top of the bag.

A stack of plastic bags having a reclosable adhesive seal wherein the bags each have a flap and the bags are stacked end to end with the flaps at alternate opposite edges of the stack and each bag is adhered to the adjacent bag by the adhesive for sealing the flap to close the bag.
