Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity via an access link, control signaling indicating a beam condition reporting configuration for reporting an access link beam condition to the network entity via a relay UE. The UE may detect the access link beam condition for the access link in accordance with the beam condition reporting configuration. The UE may transmit via a sidelink to the relay UE, a beam condition report to the relay UE that indicates to relay the beam condition report to the network entity. Additionally, the UE may transmit the beam condition report to the network entity.

Multi-path beam failure reporting techniques

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may receive a control signal that indicates one or more parameters for a beam failure reporting procedure. The beam failure reporting procedure may be associated with a multi-path wireless connection for the first UE, which may include a first link between the first UE and a network entity and a second link between the first UE and a second UE. The first UE may monitor, as part of a multi-path beam failure recovery procedure, the first link for one or more signals associated with beam failure detection based on receiving the control signal. The first UE may transmit, via the first link or the second link, one or more messages in accordance with the beam failure reporting procedure based on monitoring. The one or more messages may include information associated with the one or more parameters.

Utilization of secondary link for beam failure warning and recovery

Aspects presented herein may improve the latency and efficiency of L1/L2 inter-cell mobility. In one aspect, a UE receives a configuration for a set of cells associated with a mobility of the UE, where the set of cells includes an SpCell and an SCell, where the set of cells includes a first subset of activated cells and a second subset of deactivated cells, and where at least one first cell of the set of cells is a reference cell and one or more second cells of the set of cells are associated with the reference cell. The UE receives an indication of an updated configuration for the set of cells based on a movement of the UE, where the indication of the updated configuration is received from the network entity, where the updated configuration includes at least one new cell in the set of cells.

Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable storage medium for extending DRX ON duration are provided. An example method includes identifying a predicted BFD within a DRX OFF duration associated with a configured DRX. The example method may further include extend, based on the predicted BFD, a DRX ON duration associated with the configured DRX. The example method may further include continuing to perform one or more BFD related procedures during the DRX ON duration.

Extension of DRX on for BFR

A user equipment (UE) may receive first control signaling indicating a configuration of a set of serving cells for inter-cell mobility procedures and a layer one (L1) report configuration. The UE may transmit, in accordance with the L1 report configuration, an L1 report including channel information associated with one or more cell groups of the set of serving cells, where the one or more cell groups include both active and inactive serving cells for the inter-cell mobility procedures. In some cases, the UE may receive second control signaling modifying the L1 report configuration. The second control signaling may indicate parameters of the L1 report configuration to be updated, such as cells or cell groups to be reported, quantities to measure and/or include in the L1 report, etc. The UE may update the L1 report configuration based on the second control signaling.

Dynamic reporting techniques for inter-cell mobility

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, configuration information that indicates a configuration for monitoring beam failure detection reference signals (BFD-RSs) in a discontinuous reception (DRX) on duration. The UE may transmit, to the network node, information that is based at least in part on the BFD-RSs being monitored in the DRX on duration in accordance with the configuration. Beam failure detection reference signal monitoring for discontinuous reception

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A network entity may configure one or more user equipments (UEs) with cell group configuration information for a single cell group or multiple cell groups. The configuration information may include parameters for each cell in the one or more cell groups. The configuration information may include a set of parameters for multiple candidate roles for each cell in the cell group. The network may then dynamically switch, update, or activate, cell groups, and may dynamically switch transmission reception points (TRPs) in a cell group from one role to another via dynamic signaling (e.g., level 1 (L1) or level 2 (L2) signaling). Additionally, or alternatively, the network may activate, deactivate, add, or remove, individual cells or cell groups from a set of configured cells via L1 or L2 signaling.

Group configuration for inter-cell mobility in multi-transmission reception point deployments

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for enhanced signaling related to beam failure prediction. A user equipment (UE) predicts a beam failure condition prior to a number of beam failure instances within a time period reaching a configured threshold number of beam failures. The UE transmits an indicator of the predicted beam failure condition to a serving cell. The indicator may include a request for a change to a beam failure detection reference signal (BFD-RS) or to UE scheduling. The serving cell transmits a notification of a change to the BFD-RS or to UE scheduling in response to the indicator. The UE may continue to monitor for a beam failure condition based on the change or may adjust reception during a predicted duration of the beam failure based on the change.

Enhanced signaling for beam failure detection reference signal with UE predicted beam failure

A method of wireless communication at a UE is disclosed herein. The method includes transmitting, at a first time instance, an indication of a first measurement on at least one DL-RS associated with a first cell, where the first cell is included in a L1 mobility configured cell set or a L2 mobility configured cell set. The method includes receiving, at a second time instance after the first time instance, an estimated TA associated with the first cell. The method includes performing a second measurement on the at least one DL-RS. The method includes accepting or rejecting the estimated TA for communication with the first cell based on at least one of the first measurement or the second measurement.

Timing advance validation techniques for L1/L2 inter-cell mobility

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for interference-aware beam failure detection procedures. One or more beam failure parameters may be adjusted based on a likelihood of temporary interference being present for a communications beam. The beam failure parameters may include beam failure indication (BFI) counts or count thresholds that may be adjusted based on a likelihood of BFIs being the result of temporary interference. Additionally or alternatively, one or more measurement thresholds that trigger a BFI may be adjusted based on a likelihood of a presence of temporary interference.

Techniques for interference-based beam failure detection

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a beam failure detection reference signal (BFD-RS). The UE may determine, autonomously at the UE based at least in part on the BFD-RS, a beam failure instance (BFI) count for different types of BFI including BFI noise and BFI interference. A method of wireless communication at a UE is disclosed herein. The method includes receiving a L1 or L2 mobility cell configuration for a set of multiple cell groups. Each cell group comprises multiple cells. Cell groups within the set of multiple cell groups are able to be activated or deactivated for L1 or L2 mobility. The method further includes receiving L1 or L2 signaling indicating a PCG from one or more activated cell groups, the PCG including a cell that serves as a SpCell.

L1/L2 mobility and cell group activation/deactivation

A method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving an indication of a mobility configured cell set having a number of cells. The method also includes receiving signaling to release a selected cell from the mobility configured cell set. The method further includes releasing the selected cell from the mobility configured cell set in response to receiving the signaling. In some aspects, releasing the selected cell comprises removing the selected cell from a carrier aggregation configuration. In other aspects, releasing the selected cell comprises removing a mobility configuration for the selected cell.

Layer one/layer two (L1/L2) signaling to release cells configured for L1/L2 inter-cell mobility

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for autonomous block error rate (BLER) threshold determination fur use in beam failure indication (BFI) procedures. A user equipment (UE) that is capable of autonomously determining a BLER threshold value may provide an indication of the capability to a base station. The base station may provide configuration information that enables the UE to perform autonomous BLER threshold determination, and the UE may determine the BLER threshold value based on the configuration information. The UE may determine that a BFI has occurred based on the determined BLER threshold, and thereby enhance beam failure detection procedures to provide more efficient and reliable communications.

Beam failure indication techniques based on user equipment autonomy capability

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may communicate with a network node via a first wireless link using a first beam according to a first beam configuration. In some examples, the first UE may transmit to the network node via a second wireless link with a second UE, a beam failure recovery (BFR) message in response to identifying a beam failure for the first beam. As such, the UE may receive, a message indicating a second beam configuration. For example, the network node transmit to the first UE via a third wireless link, the second beam configuration including a second beam for the first UE to use to communicate. Additionally, or alternatively, the network node may transmit to the second UE, a signal indicating for the second UE to relay traffic between the network node and the first UE.
