A method for an optimal cell selection for a UE in a wireless network, may include receiving a plurality of KPIs associated with the UE, determining whether at least one KPI from the plurality of KPIs meets at least one KPI criteria; and performing, one of: prioritizing a sub6 cell over a mmWave cell and selecting the sub6cell cell or prioritizing a LTE cell over a sub6 cell and selecting the LTE cell or, prioritizing the LTE cell over the mmWave cell and selecting the LTE cell, and prioritizing the mmWave cell over the sub6 cell and selecting the mmWave cell in response to determining that the at least one KPI from the plurality of KPIs does not meets the at least one KPI criteria.

Method and apparatus for cell selection based on service

Embodiments herein provide a method for performing voice call performance by a user equipment (UE). A voice call is preferred for a cellular network over a Wi-Fi network, an IMS is registered over a 5G BS, the 5G BS is not supported for the voice call, and a Wi-Fi device and a 4G BS are supported for the voice call. The method includes: detecting an event related to the voice call; comparing signal strength of the Wi-Fi device and signal strength of the 4G BS; shifting an IMS registration from the 5G BS to the Wi-Fi device, upon determining that the signal strength of the Wi-Fi device is greater than the signal strength of the 4G BS; and initiating the voice call over the Wi-Fi device upon detecting a trigger for the voice call.

A method for controlling Short Message Service (SMS) communication by a Dual Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Dual Standby (DSDS) device is provided. The method includes detecting that a first SIM is on a voice call and a second SIM is in a standby mode, determining whether page information is received at the second SIM from a server during the voice call of the first SIM and/or the voice call of the first SIM is terminated, immediately sending a refresh registration signal to the server or triggering an event at a DSDS device when the page information is received at the second SIM from the server during the voice call of the first SIM and/or the voice call of the first SIM is terminated and immediately receiving a pending SMS from the server in response to sending the refresh registration signal to the server or triggering the event.

Method and system for controlling SMS communication in wireless communication network

Embodiments herein disclose UE based implementations to manage voice/video over new radio (VoNR)/EPSFB calls. In an embodiment, there can be a zero CQI reporting for indicating a signal deterioration during the VoNR call. In an embodiment, at least one of a Wi-Fi network or a dual SIM dual standby (DSDS) feature, a UE initiated fallback procedure and an internet bearer can be used for continuing the VoNR call. Various embodiments may reduce the call failures and manage calls on VoNR/5G which can be useful to the UE in volatile signal conditions.

A method for random access channel (RACH) procedure in a wireless network by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes determining a plurality of signal condition parameters associated with the UE. Further, the method includes determining whether at least one signal condition parameter of the plurality of signal condition parameters meets at least one signal condition threshold from a plurality of signal condition thresholds. A method for selecting cell using a fifth generation (5G) user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes detecting an event, when the 5G UE is camped on a serving cell; detecting availability of one or more voice over new radio (VoNR) cells and one or more non-VoNR cells in vicinity of the serving cell in response to detecting the event; based on the event, performing one of (i) selecting a VoNR cell when only one VoNR cell is available, (ii) identifying and selecting a VoNR cell based on a plurality of cell parameters, when a plurality of VoNR cells are available, and (iii) identifying and selecting a non-VoNR cell from the one or more non-VoNR cells, based on the plurality of cell parameters, when one of the one or more non-VoNR cells is available.

Method for selecting cell using a 5G user equipment and a 5G UE

The present subject matter refers a method of cell selection and reselection. The method comprises detecting a plurality of neighboring cells and their associated plurality of cell capabilities while the UE, having an associated UE capability, is connected to a serving cell. A possible throughput for the plurality of neighbouring cells is determined based on the detected plurality of cell capability and UE capability. A first neighboring cell is selected from the plurality of neighboring cells based on the determined possible throughput.
