Systems, apparatus, articles of manufacture, and methods are disclosed for accessories for electronic devices and removable fan cartridges for electronic devices. An example electronic device accessory includes a backplate panel removably couplable to a first chassis of a first electronic device to replace a portion of a first cover of the first chassis and removably couplable to a second chassis of a second electronic device to replace a portion of a second cover of the second chassis. The example electronic device accessory also includes a mating device to releasably couple the backplate panel to the first chassis and independently releasably couple the backplate panel to the second chassis and a fan coupled to the backplate panel. The fan is to increase a Z height of the first electronic device when the backplate panel is coupled to the first electronic device and increase a Z height of the second electronic device when the backplate panel is coupled to the second electronic device.

An illuminated display screen bezel may provide improved user illumination when using a portable electronic device. The illuminated display screen bezel may include a series of LEDs built into the bezel, may include a light guide plate, or may include an extended display area at least partially covered by a controllable opaque layer. These lighting mechanisms may be dynamically controlled and adjusted with one or more smart control algorithms to suit different users. The improved image quality may be used to provide improved performance of image processing features, such as improving the ability of a videoconferencing program to create a virtual background or improving the ability of an AI system to perform image analysis. These lighting configurations may also be used for providing notification lights, automatic dimming based on detected ambient light, program-enhancing RGB lighting effects, mood lighting, and other lighting effects.

Systems, apparatus, articles of manufacture, methods are disclosed to reshape fan noise of a fan of an electronic device. An example system includes a microphone to detect a first acoustic signal including fan noise. The example system also includes a processor to: identify a tone in the first acoustic signal; and determine a gain to add to the first acoustic signal to mask the tone. In addition, the example system includes a sound transducer to present a second acoustic signal including the gain.

An electronic computing device with a self-shielding antenna. An electronic computing device may include a frame, an antenna, and an antenna shielding. The frame includes a top cover and a bottom cover. Electronic components are included in a space formed between the top cover and the bottom cover. The antenna is for wireless transmission and reception and included in the frame near an edge of the frame. The antenna shielding is disposed around the antenna for providing electro-magnetic shielding from radio frequency (RE) noises generated from the electronic components included in the frame. The antenna shielding may be a metal wall disposed between the top cover and the bottom cover around the antenna. The frame may be a metallic frame and may include a cut-out in the top cover and the bottom cover above and below the antenna, and a non-metallic cover may be provided in the cut-out.

The cover includes a fixed panel to be thermally coupled to a chassis of the personal computing device to define a heatsink of the personal computing device, and a foldable panel to be rotatably coupled to the fixed panel via a hinge to support the personal computing device to stand at an angle from a surface.

Cameras are located within the display area of a display. In-display cameras allow for thinner display bezels. In-display cameras allow for the creation of ultra-high resolution images. The ability to capture an object from multiple perspectives allows for holographic image recording and playback. Multiple views of an image can be captured with varying depths of focus, allowing an image's depth of field to be adjusted during post processing. In-display cameras can also be used for user authentication, touch detection and three-dimensional gesture recognition. Thermal sensors located within the display area allow for control of the display temperature, improved control over system performance, and compensation for micro-LED degradation that can occur due to aging or increased temperature. Microlens assemblies located above pixels can adjust the viewing cone angle of the display or a portion of the display and microassemblies located under individual pixels or pixel arrays can adjust a viewing angle.

An embodiment of a method of manufacturing a cover lens for an electronic display includes etching a first surface geometry on a first surface of the cover lens. In the embodiment, the method includes determining a plurality of angles of refraction at the first surface from light generated from the electronic display based on the first surface geometry. In the embodiment, the method includes determining a second surface geometry for a second surface of the cover lens based on the plurality of angles of refraction at the first surface. In the embodiment, the method includes etching the second surface geometry on the second surface of the cover lens.

A laptop device includes an upper portion including a display device and a lower portion coupled to the upper portion with a hinge mechanism, the lower portion including a reflective surface. When the laptop device is closed and the upper portion abuts the lower portion, the display device is configured to display images that are reflected on the reflective surface.
