An antenna and radiation unit thereof, and balun structure of radiation unit are disclosed. The radiation unit has two dipoles belonging to a same polarization and two feeding components respectively feeding the two dipoles. One end of each of the two feeding components is electrically connected to its corresponding dipole, and the other end of each of the two feeding components is combined through a same physical combining port inherent in the radiation unit. By arranging a combining port inherent to the radiation unit and connecting it to a respective end of two feeding components connected to two dipoles of the same polarization, the signals of the two dipoles are divided/combined through the combining port.

A dielectric phase shifter comprises a cavity having an elongated receiving space, a phase shifting circuit disposed inside the receiving space, and a dielectric element slidably mounted in the receiving space and parallel with the phase shifting circuit. A rail is disposed on an inner wall of the cavity for preventing contact between the movable dielectric element and the phase shifting circuit. By providing a number of rails between the phase shifting circuit and the dielectric element, direct contact between the dielectric element and a feeding network is prevented. As a result, no additional force will be imposed on the feeding network and reliability is enhanced. Moreover, wear of the feeding network and/or dielectric element during operation of the phase shifter is eliminated.

A phase shifter of cavity type includes an integrally formed cavity, a feeding network disposed inside the cavity, a dielectric element disposed between the feeding network and the cavity, and at least one transmission-line transformation device. The at least one transmission-line transformation device is connected with the cavity by welding for connecting an outer conductor of a transmission cable, and for passing an inner conductor of the transmission cable into the cavity and being connected with the feeding network. Phase shifting is achieved by straight movement of the dielectric element along the longitudinal direction of the cavity. For the phase shifter of cavity type, the cavity and transmission-line transformation device are individually designed, and as a result, difficulty in design and manufacture is decreased. In addition, fasteners such as screws are not used for securing the phase shifter, thus avoiding reliability and inter-modulation problems resulted from failure of screws.

A multi-frequency array antenna, includes a reflective metal plate, a low-frequency radiation column element which is arranged on the reflective metal plate and operating in a first frequency band range, and a high-frequency radiation column element operating in a second frequency band range. The low-frequency radiation column element comprises several low-frequency radiation units arranged at an equal first distance in the axial direction of a first reference axis. The high-frequency radiation column element comprises several high-frequency radiation units arranged at an equal second distance in the axial direction of the first reference axis. The first distance is 2.5 times the second distance. At least one of the low-frequency radiation units is nested with one high-frequency radiation unit locationally corresponding thereto, and at least one of the low-frequency radiation units is axially located between two adjacent high-frequency radiation units close to the low-frequency radiation unit.

Multi-frequency array antenna

A feeding network is realized by dielectric phase shifting module. The module includes a dielectric device into which interlayer space is defined, a first conductor and a second conductor disposed side by side into the interlayer space and a third conductor located outside of the interlayer space and connected, at different locations, to one end, located at a same side, of each of the first and second conductors. Another end of the first conductor is defined as an input end, while another end of the second conductor and any end of the third conductor are all defined as output ends. The dielectric device is configured to slide along a longitudinal direction of the first and second conductors under external force so as to change phase of signals fed in from the input end and fed out from the output ends. Two dielectric phase-shift modules constitute a phase-shift unit thereof.

A broadband radiation unit includes first and second pairs of symmetric dipoles operable to transmit communication signals and to receive communication signals. The first pair of symmetric dipoles has a polarization that is orthogonal to that of the second pair of symmetric dipoles. The first and second pairs of symmetric dipoles together define an annular structure. A plurality of baluns are associated with the first and second pairs of symmetric dipoles such that a given one of the baluns is associated with a respective symmetric dipole of the pairs of symmetric dipoles. Each one of the baluns feeds a balanced current to its associated symmetric dipole. Each symmetric dipole of the first and second pairs of symmetric dipoles has two unit arms which are disposed on and arranged symmetrically about its associated balun.

Bi-polarized broadband radiation unit of annular type and linear array antenna

A wideband-shaped monopole dipole includes a first dipole unit, a second dipole unit, a feed device, a parallel-wire and two double-leads set between two cantilevers of the first dipole unit and the second dipole unit. The parallel-wire connects the first dipole unit with the second dipole unit in a parallel connection. The feed device includes a feed pad and a coaxial cable. The double-leads between the cantilevers of the first and second dipole units extend to form two parallel plates acting as a first balancer and a second balancer to balance impedance components of the first and second dipole units. A feed point of the feed device is disposed on a center portion of the parallel-wire. The feed pad is provided on one line of the parallel-wire. Outer and inner conductors of the coaxial cable are respectively coupled to the feed pad and the other line of the parallel-wire.
