In general, the disclosure is directed to sealed enclosures and devices that include enclosures for protecting enclosed heat sensitive components from the heat generated by enclosed heat producing components. Heat producing components within the enclosure may be placed to achieve uniform distribution of heat produced by the heat producing components, to optimize the dissipation of heat from the heat producing components to the enclosure, and to minimize the heat experienced by the heat sensitive components. The exterior of the enclosure may be designed to increase thermal dissipation and to protect against thermal radiation.

Thermal dissipation techniques for multi-sensory electromechanical products packaged in sealed enclosures

This disclosure describes techniques for sensing an angular position of a rotating object over an angular position range that includes up to 360 degrees using an arc position encoder comprising a substantially 180-degree angular position sensing range. The encoder may include a base comprising an arc length defined by a first and a second end, one or more magnetic field sensors disposed within the base between the first and second ends, and one or more polarity transition sensors also disposed within the base between the first and second ends. The encoder may further include a magnetic target that includes first and second magnetic poles disposed on opposite ends so as to generate a uniform magnetic field, wherein the magnetic target is coupled to the rotating object so as to rotate about an axis of rotation located substantially in a center of a circle defined by the base.

180-degree arc position encoder with an extended angular position sensing range

This disclosure is directed to techniques for protecting a sensor from a short to a power supply. According to one example consistent with these techniques, a circuit or device may include a sensor unit and a short protection unit. The sensor unit may generate at least one signal indicative of at least one measured property. The sensor unit may be configured to communicate the at least one generated signal via an output node coupled to the sensor unit. The short protection unit may determine whether the output node is electrically coupled to a power supply input. The short protection unit may, if the output node is electrically coupled to the power supply input, provide at least one auxiliary load between the sensor unit and the output node, and thereby protect the sensor unit to prevent the sensor unit from operating undesirably and/or to prevent the sensor unit from damage.

Short circuit protection for sensor

A lamp in which a LED array is coupled to a transistor such that the same amount of current flows through both. The voltage level at the control (e.g., base) terminal of the transistor is controlled such that the current magnitude is reduced when the operating temperature rises. As a result, the heat generated from the junctions of the LEDs in the LED arrays is reduced, thereby compensating for the increase in the operating temperature.
