Cushion for patient interface

A cushion assembly for a patient interface for sealed delivery of a flow of air at a continuously positive pressure to a patient's airways includes a foam cushion configured to sealingly engage the patient's face; and an elastomeric support portion configured to support the foam cushion and form at least part of a plenum chamber with the foam cushion. The elastomeric support portion includes a support structure and a folded section extending radially inward from the support structure. The folded section acts as a seat for the foam cushion, and the folded portion is configured to allow the foam cushion to roll inward toward an interior of the chamber in response to a compressive force acting on the foam cushion.

Patient interface with foam seal-forming structure

A patient interface to deliver a flow of air at a positive pressure with respect to ambient air pressure to an entrance to the patient's airways to ameliorate sleep disordered breathing includes a frame assembly and a cushion assembly configured to removably and repeatably connect to the frame assembly. The frame assembly and the cushion assembly form at least part of a plenum chamber pressurizable to a therapeutic pressure. The cushion assembly comprises a one-piece construction including a seal-forming structure configured to form a seal with a region of a patient's face surrounding the entrance to the patient's airways and a frame connection structure configured to removably and repeatably connect the cushion assembly to the frame assembly. The seal-forming structure comprises a first elastomeric material and the frame connection structure comprises a second elastomeric material, the first elastomeric material comprising a lower durometer or hardness than the second elastomeric material.

Headgear for patient interface

The seal-forming structure comprises a first elastomeric material and the frame connection structure comprises a second elastomeric material, the first elastomeric material comprising a lower durometer or hardness than the second elastomeric material.

A patient interface including a seal-forming structure having a mouth portion that forms at least part of the mouth plenum and is configured to seal around the patient's mouth and a nasal portion that is configured to seal with the patient's nares. The nasal portion includes a nasal plenum positioned to receive pressurized gas from the mouth plenum. The seal-forming structure also includes a clip configured to connect the mouth plenum to the nasal plenum and act as a conduit for the flow of the pressurized gas from the mouth plenum to the nasal plenum. The clip includes a mouth portion end configured to engage the mouth portion, a nasal portion end configured to engage the nasal portion, and a pair of wings protruding from the nasal portion end into an interior of the nasal plenum so that the wings engage an interior surface of the nasal plenum.

Oro-pillow cushion assembly

A cushion assembly for a patient interface includes a foam cushion and an elastomeric support portion configured to support the foam cushion. The foam cushion is more compliant in a nasal bridge region than other regions of the cushion assembly, the nasal bridge region being a region configured to engage the patient's nasal bridge when the cushion assembly is mounted on the patient's face.

Patient interface

A mask apparatus for a respiratory treatment can permit delivery of breathable gas to a user. In one example, the mask may employ a frame and cushion to form a seal for both mouth and nose. The frame may be adapted for coupling with a respiratory treatment apparatus so as to permit communication of a pressurized gas from the respiratory treatment apparatus. The cushion, which may be foam, may have a substantially under the nose configuration or over the nose configuration. The mask may have a common plenum chamber for both nose and mouth. The cushion may further define a centrally open lip superior region. The cushion may be adapted to couple with the frame directly or to the frame in conjunction with a cushion support clip. Various features of the cushion may further promote sealing and comfort for the under the nose design.
