Provided is a production method with which it is possible to produce beta zeolite at high purity by suppressing the generation of impurities by a seed crystal addition method that can reduce the environmental burden as much as possible, without using an organic structure-directing agent. This method for producing beta zeolite having a step that mixes and heats an organic-compound-free reaction mixture comprising a silica source, alumina source, alkali source, and water with beta zeolite seed crystals, wherein (I) beta zeolite synthesized without using an organic structure-directing agent and having 90% or more by volume of particles 10 &#x3bc;m or less in diameter in the particle size distribution by a laser diffraction scattering-type particle size distribution measurement method is used, (III) acid-treated zeolite in which the SiO/AlOratio is 150 or less is prepared by (II) contact treatment with an acidic aqueous solution, and the acid-treated zeolite is used as the beta zeolite seed crystals.

Method of producing beta zeolite

Provided is a mordenite zeolite which can be produced without using an organic structure-directing agent, and has superior multivalent metal cation exchange capability. The mordenite zeolite according to the present invention containing silicon, a divalent metal M and aluminum in a skeletal structure, wherein the mordenite zeolite has the following atomic ratios in the state of Na-form. The mordenite zeolite preferably has a BET specific surface area of 250 m/g or more and 500 m/g or less and a micropore volume of 0.07 cc/g or more and 0.25 cc/g or less in the state of Na-form or H-form. Si/(M+Al)=5 or more and 10 or less, M/(M+Al)=0.1 or more and less than 1, and Na/(M+Al)=1 or more and less than 2.

Mordenite zeolite and production method therefor

Disclosed is a method for readily and inexpensively producing zeolite without using an organic structure-directing agent (organic SDA). Specifically disclosed is a method whereby a gel containing a silica source, an alumina source, an alkaline source and water is reacted with zeolite seed crystals, to produce a zeolite with the same kind of skeletal structure as the zeolite. The gel used is a gel of a composition whereby, when a zeolite is synthesized from this gel only, the synthesized zeolite comprises at least one of the kinds of composite building units of the target zeolite.

Provided is a method for producing a beta zeolite, which is a seed crystal addition method that is capable of reducing the environmental load as much as possible. A method for producing a beta zeolite according to the present invention comprises a step wherein a reaction mixture that contains a silica source, an alumina source, an alkali source and water and a seed crystal that is composed of a beta zeolite are mixed with each other and heated. A beta zeolite which comprises particles having a particle size of 10 &#x3bc;m or less in an amount of 90% or more on a volume basis in the particle size distribution as determined by a laser diffraction/scattering particle size distribution measuring method, and which is synthesized without using an organic structure-directing agent is used as the seed crystal.

Method for producing beta zeolite

Provided are: a M-exchanged beta zeolite which is useful for the catalytic removal of nitrogen monoxide contained in a gas to be purified even when oxygen is contained in the gas at a high concentration or when the gas has a low temperature; and a method for producing the M-exchanged beta zeolite. The M-exchanged beta zeolite according to the present invention has a SiO/AlOratio of 7 to 18, and is ion-exchanged by a Mion (wherein Mrepresents a n-valent metal cation; n represents a numeral value of 1 to 3; and M represents an element selected from the group consisting of Ni, Co, Cu, Mn, Zn, Sn, Ag, Li, K, Cs, Au, Ca, Mg, Pt, Pd, Rh and Ir). The amount of the Mion carried on the M-exchanged beta zeolite is preferably from 0.01 to 2.5 mmol/g relative to the amount of the M-exchanged beta zeolite.

The purpose of/problem to be addressed by the present invention is to provide: an Fe(II)-substituted beta-type zeolite useful for the catalytic removal of a variety of gases; and a production method therefor. The SiO/AlOratio in this Fe(II)-substituted beta-type zeolite is equal to or more than 7 but less than 10. This Fe(II)-substituted beta-type zeolite is obtained by being subjected to ionic exchange with Fe(II) ions. It is preferable that the Fe(II) loading amount be in the range of 0.001-0.4 mmol/g of the Fe(II)-substituted beta-type zeolite. It is preferable that the Fe(II)-substituted beta-type zeolite be produced using a method in which a beta-type zeolite having an SiO/AlOratio of equal to or more than 7 but less than 10 is dispersed in an Fe(II) water-soluble-compound aqueous solution, and then mixed and agitated to cause the beta-type zeolite to carry Fe(II) ions.

Fe(II)-substituted beta-type zeolite, production method therefor and gas adsorbent including same, and nitric oxide and hydrocarbon removal method

Provided is a method for producing a MAZ-type zeolite, the method having an environmental impact which has been reduced as much as possible while not using a structure-directing agent as far as possible. In the method for producing a MAZ-type zeolite according to the present invention: (1) a silica source, an alumina source, an alkali source and water are mixed so as to form a reaction mixture that has a composition represented by a specific molar ratio; (2) a MAZ-type zeolite, which has a SiO/AlOratio of 5-10, has an average particle diameter of at least 0.1 &#x3bc;m and does not contain an organic compound, is added, as a seed crystal, into the reaction mixture in an amount of 0.1-30 weight % relative to the silica components in the reaction mixture; and (3) the reaction mixture, into which the seed crystal has been added, is heated at 80-200&#xb0; C. in a closed system.

Method for producing MAZ-type zeolite

The purpose of/problem addressed by the present invention is to provide: an Fe(II)-substituted MEL-type zeolite useful for the catalytic removal of a variety of gases; and a production method therefor. The SiO/AlOratio in this Fe(II)-substituted MEL-type zeolite is in the range of 10-30 inclusive. This Fe(II)-substituted MEL-type zeolite is obtained by being subjected to ionic exchange with Fe(II) ions. It is preferable that the Fe(II) loading amount be in the range of 0.001-0.4 mmol/g of the Fe(II)-substituted MEL-type zeolite. It is preferable that the Fe(II)-substituted MEL-type zeolite be produced using a method in which an MEL-type zeolite having an SiO/AlOratio in the range of 10-30 inclusive is dispersed in an Fe(II) water-soluble-compound aqueous solution, and then mixed and agitated to cause the MEL-type zeolite to carry Fe(II) ions.

Fe(II)-substituted MEL-type zeolite, production method therefor and gas adsorbent including same, and nitric oxide and hydrocarbon removal method

To provide an Fe(II)-substituted beta type zeolite which has been ion-exchanged with Fe(II) ions and can effectively adsorb and remove nitrogen monoxide or hydrocarbon contained in gas to be cleaned, even if oxygen is present in the gas at a high concentration or the temperature of the gas is low. In the Fe(II)-substituted beta type zeolite, a ratio of SiO/AlOis preferably 10 to 18, a BET specific surface area is preferably 400 m/g to 700 m/g, a micropore specific surface area is preferably 290 m/g to 500 m/g, and a micropore volume is preferably 0.15 cm/g to 0.25 cm/g. The amount of Fe(II) supported is preferably 0.01% by mass to 6.5% by mass based on the Fe(II)-substituted beta type zeolite.

Fe(II)-substituted beta type zeolite, gas adsorbent containing same and method for producing same, and method for removing nitrogen monoxide and hydrocarbon

A zeolite beta according to the present invention has a SiO/AlOratio of 10 to 16 and is aluminum-rich. The zeolite beta has a BET specific surface area measured in the state of a sodium type of 500 to 700 m/g, a micropore specific surface area of 350 to 500 m/g, and a micropore volume of 0.15 to 0.25 cm/g.
