A computer device may include a memory configured to store instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to select a base station; obtain one or more metric values for user equipment (UE) devices attached to the selected base station; and determine usage categories for at least some of the UE devices attached to the selected base station, wherein a usage category identifies a combination of a data type, a movement type, and a user type associated with a particular UE device. The processor may be further configured to execute the instructions to classify the obtained one or more metric values based on the determined usage categories; select one or more optimization actions for the selected base station based on the classified one or more metric values; and instruct the selected base station to perform the selected one or more optimization actions.

System and method for a usage category specific self-organizing network

A wireless network provides differentiated service via a first management device that manages and provisions resources that are located in an edge cloud of the wireless network separate from a second management device that manages and provisions resources that are located in a core cloud of the wireless network. The first management device may provision the edge cloud resources to provide various functionalities and services of the wireless network in a localized manner to user equipment ('UEs') that are associated with low latency or high reliability requirements. The second management device may provision the core cloud resources to provide the same or different functionalities and services of the wireless network in a centralized manner to UEs that are not associated with low latency and high reliability requirements.

Systems and methods for localized and virtualized radio access networks

Techniques described herein may allow for the selective enabling and/or disabling of shared access points ('SAPs'). The selective enabling and/or disabling may occur based on the analysis of key performance indicators ('KPIs') associated with the SAPs. The selective enabling and/or disabling may cause the SAPs to cease (or continue) broadcasting their availability for User Equipment (&#x201c;UEs&#x201d;) of a particular wireless provider, decline (or accept) bearer requests for UEs of the particular wireless provider, or terminate existing connections with UEs of the particular wireless provider. The selective enabling and/or disabling may be performed for certain applications or Quality of Service (&#x201c;QoS&#x201d;) levels. The selective enabling and/or disabling may be performed proactively (e.g., without necessarily determining that the performance for a given SAP has not met a threshold performance), based on historical trends.

Systems and methods for real-time and selective enablement of shared access cells

A device may determine a set of characteristics of a network. The set of characteristics may relate to a set of wireless devices connected to the network. The device may alter a network configuration associated with a set of positioning reference signals (PRS signals) transmitted via the network based on the set of characteristics of the network. The alteration may relate to a characteristic of the set of PRS signals or a resource allocation for providing the set of PRS signals via the network. The device may transmit the set of PRS signals based on altering the network configuration to enable geolocation to be performed by the set of wireless devices connected to the network.

Apparatus and method for positioning signal control for a wireless network

To report feedback information regarding a wireless channel, a mobile station determines whether a predefined condition is satisfied. In response to determining that the predefined condition is satisfied, feedback information regarding an individual one of plural subbands of the wireless channel is included in a first report to be sent to a base station. In response to determining that the predefined condition is not satisfied, aggregate feedback information regarding the plural subbands is included in a second report to be sent to the base station.

Techniques described herein relate to the dynamic modification of the serving band used by small cells in a heterogeneous network (HetNet) environment. The serving band may be modified to mitigate interference with macrocell eMBMS services. In various implementations, and based on scheduled eMBMS services, a small cell may switch the frequency band of the small cell, suspend service, and/or reduce the transmit power of the small cell.

A device associated with a cellular network may receive a request for a quality-of-service based service from a wireless sharing device that is in communication with a user device. The user device may connect with the cellular network via the wireless sharing device. The request may include identification information. The identification information may include a user device identifier and a wireless sharing device identifier. The quality-of-service based service may be provided based on an identified quality-of-service level. The device may establish a bearer based on the request. The bearer may be used by one or more network devices to provide the quality-of-based service, with the quality-of-service level and via the wireless sharing device, to the user device.

Providing a quality-of-service-based service from a cellular network via a wireless sharing device

A device may determine a first baseline measurement. The device may determine a first location associated with the device. The device may store information identifying the first baseline measurement and the first location associated with the device. The device may determine a second baseline measurement. The device may determine that the second baseline measurement differs from the first baseline measurement by a threshold quantity. The device may determine a second location associated with the device based on determining that the second baseline measurement differs from the first baseline measurement by the threshold quantity. The second location may be different from the first location. The device may provide information associated with the second baseline measurement and/or the second location.

Location management for access points

A device may determine to initiate a location determination for a base station. The device may identify a set of positioning measurements associated with the location determination. The device may identify a set of other devices to be associated with the set of positioning measurements. The device may provide configuration information for the set of positioning measurements to the set of other devices. The device may determine information associated with the set of positioning measurements based on providing the configuration information. The device may determine a location in which the base station is located based on determining the information associated with the set of positioning measurements.
