This disclosure relates to techniques for a wireless device to detect and operate in an elevator or elevator-like conditions. The wireless device may establish a cellular link with a cellular base station. One or more conditions associated with being in an elevator may be detected. The wireless device may determine to operate in an elevator mode based at least in part on detecting the one or more conditions associated with being in an elevator. The wireless device may operate in the elevator mode. One or more conditions associated with exiting an elevator may be detected. The wireless device may determine to operate in a normal mode based at least in part on detecting the one or more conditions associated with exiting an elevator. The wireless device may operate in the normal mode.

Elevator scenario detection and operation for wireless devices

This disclosure relates to techniques for performing radio link monitoring and cell searching when moving at high speeds. A movement speed of a wireless device may be determined. When performing a cell search, the manner of the cell search may depend on the movement speed of the wireless device, potentially including cells that are associated with high movement speed being more highly prioritized when the wireless device is determined to be at a higher movement speed than when the wireless device is determined to be at a lower movement speed.

Radio link monitoring and cell search techniques for high movement speeds

A device, system, and method performs a Voice over Long Term Evolution (LTE) (VoLTE) call setup procedure. The device includes a transceiver establishing a connection with a LTE network and an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). The device includes a processor executing a VoLTE call application with a further user equipment, receiving an input to execute the VoLTE call application, and generating a data packet including an indication to trigger a dedicated bearer establishment procedure. The transceiver transmits the data packet to one of the LTE network and the IMS. The indication triggers the dedicated bearer establishment procedure to be performed during a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) signal exchange procedure.

Device, system and method for VoLTE setup

The present invention discloses a protocol version negotiation method, a mobile terminal and a base station. The method includes: receiving, by a mobile terminal, an air interface message sent by a base station according to a 3GPP protocol, where the air interface message includes an information element for indicating a highest protocol version supported by the base station, and the air interface message is sent before the base station sends a request message for querying the mobile terminal capability set; obtaining the highest protocol version supported by the base station according to the information element; and if the highest protocol version supported by the mobile terminal is later than the highest protocol version supported by the base station, configuring, by the mobile terminal, a protocol version used by the mobile terminal to a protocol version same as the highest protocol version supported by the base station.
