A system and method for efficiently determining trajectory and/or location of a device (or user thereof). In a non-limiting example, rotation matrix coefficients may be analyzed in conjunction with stepping information to determine device trajectory and/or location. The system and method may, for example, be implemented in a MEMS sensor system, for example comprising a MEMS gyroscope, MEMS accelerometer, MEMS compass and/or MEMS pressure sensor.

Trajectory estimation system

A system and method for reliably counting user steps. Various aspects may, for example, comprise processing a plurality of frequency bands of at least one sensor signal to accurately count user steps. A plurality of filtered sensor signals may be formed by filtering a sensor signal with a plurality of band-pass filters from which a dominant filtered sensor signal may be selected. The selected dominant filtered sensor signal may then be used to count user steps. Further, a frequency band of a sensor signal may be selected such that if it is determined the user is not engaged in a non-stepping activity, user steps may be counted using the content of the signal in the selected frequency band. Still further, user steps may be counted using an identified dominant harmonic.

A flicker band automated detection system and method are presented. In one embodiment an incidental motion mitigation exposure setting method includes receiving image input information; performing a motion mitigating flicker band automatic detection process; and implementing exposure settings based upon results of the motion mitigating flicker band automatic detection process. The auto flicker band detection process includes performing a motion mitigating process on an illumination intensity indication. Content impacts on an the motion mitigated illumination intensity indication are minimized. The motion mitigated illumination intensity indication is binarized. A correlation of the motion mitigated illumination intensity and a reference illumination intensity frequency is established.
