A display screen of the mobile terminal is in a folded state. The display screen includes n display areas, and n is a positive integer not less than 2. The method includes: detecting a touch event for at least one edge of the mobile terminal, where the at least one edge is a non-metallic material edge of the mobile terminal; acquiring a gesture of a user currently holding the mobile terminal, when the touch event for the at least one edge is detected; and shielding the touch event for the at least one edge, when the gesture of the user holding the mobile terminal matches a target gesture.
